[Bug 1569582] Re: Add Bluetooth apparmor policy
Oh, some more info: For the device discovery, it uses the "BluetoothDeviceDiscoveryModel" [1], for sending the file it uses QBluetoothTransferManager [2], both from the Qt API [1] http://doc.qt.io/qt-5/qml-qtbluetooth-bluetoothdiscoverymodel.html [2] http://doc.qt.io/qt-5/qbluetoothtransfermanager.html While in theory such a OBEX Push share plugin could be provided by the platform and hence run unconfined, both of the above mentioned APIs are useful for 3rd Party app developers to enable Bluetooth features in their Apps. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1569582 Title: Add Bluetooth apparmor policy To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1569582/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1568439] Re: QtLocation OSM based routing does not work any more
Well, while we're at it, the OSM backend in Qt 5.5 is much more complete in general than in 5.4. It supports the Places api and detailed routing. I have an app in the works for that. If there are no blocking issues and we're still "far" away from upgrading Qt in our phone baseline, it'd be great to backport the complete OSM backend. That should be doable quite easily I think. In Qt 5.6 the map implementation gained some performance boost and also had some API changes. So if we're going to backport more than just the OSM backend, we'd probably require to keep the version bump to 5.6 too in order to not mix up a 5.6 api into a 5.4 version. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1568439 Title: QtLocation OSM based routing does not work any more To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1568439/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1568016] [NEW] Freezes in uitk
Public bug reported: Ever since moving to uitk 1.3, I see occational freezes, mostly related to page push/pop operations. This happens very randomly but causes the app to freeze and requires a restart. I've triggered such freezes in many situations in all sorts of different apps but never could really reproduce it. There is definitely a race condition involved. Such freezes seem to happen most likely directly after app startup when pressing a button in the toolbar while stuff is still loading, but not only. I've also seen it happening in the middle of using an app. Now a friend of mine wrote an app and managed to get into a situation where it reliably triggers a freeze. I am not sure if this is the same as I'm observing or if its a different one. However, it is a freeze and might lead us to the real reason. Public bug reported: Recently the app installation seems to have degraded quite a lot in reliability. In most cases I need to trigger an installation twice or even three times in order to succeed. The progress spinner at the bottom was still spinning, but all the page content was disabled. The progress bar never appeared. Eventually I had to press the back button and then reenter the page. I clicked install again, the progress bar started. While waiting I've read through the comments, when I scrolled up to the top again, the progress bar was at 0% and would not move any more at all. Again, I had to press the back button and re-entered the page. On the third attempt it succeeded (except the issue that the progress bar again reverted to 0% after scrolling it out of view and back in, but eventually this time it changed to the open button. [Bug 1465858] Re: Time can not be read when alarm is set (while swiping/opening indicator)
Wouldnt it make sense to just keep it looking the same as when there is no alarm set? IMO its just about hiding the clock icon instaed of the time and always behaving the same, regardless if there is an alarm set or not. I totally agree with this bug that it should show the clock and not the alarm icon in the expandet state. ok. arale (and turbo) inject KEY_META on the hardware key. [Bug 1552928] Re: New bottom edge component is harder to flick up
I haven't looked at the BottomEdge from a developer point of view yet (will do soon). This report is really from a user point of view. While such a flick from the bottom edge has always been revealing the bottom edge for me with the old implementations, the new implementation always requires me to try at least 3 times until I manage to pull it up. Now I have no clue if this is an issue in the component or the apps using the component. However, so far I have seen two apps using the new component (messages and clock) and both show this same issue, which led me to report the bug on the component. If it is indeed an issue of how the apps are using the component, we should mark all those apps as affects too in this report. However, as so far 100% of the apps would be using it wrongly, I can't help but think the API would suggest to be used wrongly and maybe could/should be improved still. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1552928 Title: New bottom edge component is harder to flick up To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-ui-toolkit/+bug/1552928/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1550706] Re: Thumbnails not working with qrc
* Sure it is possible to not ship artwork in a qrc. However, that requires the developer to fiddle with the apparmor confined paths and afaict, there's no QML-only way to do so. Besides, as I said before, the default in our sdk templates is to put things in a qrc to ease up development. * I agree that the persistent-cache-cpp is childplay for people like us, again there's no qml api for it so requires people to dive into C++ which apparently many refuse to do. So the way forward would be to create another QML image provider pretty much in the same way as the thumbnailer does, except scaling and caching things only. This is probably what I'd do in case we decide this out of scope for the thumbnailer. * Shipping different sized assets, sure, possible too. But you probably won't ever be able to ship perfectly sized assets for every screen we run on, at least not when keeping the package to a reasonable size. I hoped we could be more clever in this regard than going the easy way. In any case. I totally understand if we decide this is out of scope for the thumbnailer. Still a bit wondering why it does implement the scaling of local images use case then at all and does not just media artwork matching/fetching alone then. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1550706 Title: Thumbnails not working with qrc To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-developer-experience/+bug/1550706/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1550706] Re: Thumbnails not working with qrc
The use case is for scaling the images. Especially in games you often want to ship larger artwork so that the game looks good on a tablet. However, running that game on a phone then will be slow because of the big amount of artwork that needs to be scaled down all the time. That's when I thought the thumbnailer could be a good helper to just scale things down once and have them faster loading afterwards. ** Changed in: thumbnailer (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1550706 Title: Thumbnails not working with qrc To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-developer-experience/+bug/1550706/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

If you guys think this is out of scope for the thumbnailer, please let me know. I need some more flexible image cache in many places. If the thumbnailer is not the right place to do this, I will try to come up with something else for those cases. [Bug 1552928] [NEW] New bottom edge component is harder to flick up
Public bug reported: I usually hold the phone in one hand and open the bottom edge by flicking up from the bottom with the thumb. This worked fine with the previous bottom edge, however, with the new one, there seems to be larger amount of dragging required. I keep on failing to open the bottom edge in the messages-app and clock app, now that they use the new component. When dragging very slowly such an big required distance does make sense, but for quick flicks with the thumb, it should also take the speed and/or touch points history into account and reduce the required distance if it detects a fast flick gesture. In the right edge implementation for instance, it tracks the touch points and already activates the gesture after a rather short distance (2 grid units), provided it is a one-way gesture with increasing distance from the edge in each recognized point. Such a logic would imo also make sense for the bottom edge. ** Affects: ubuntu-ui-toolkit (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1552928 Title: New bottom edge component is harder to flick up To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-ui-toolkit/+bug/1552928/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
