Indeed 2.32.0-0ubuntu1.1 uses much less RAM. I'm still up to 60160
kbytes RSS after 4 days (which still seems too much), but this is
nowhere close to the 250 MB and more it used to use.

I have two displays connected. Display 0 of the computer itself, an Asus
UL30A. Display 1 would be the external DELL 2209WA, connected via VGA.
Both displays still do work but the external display is no longer
detected correctly as a 2209WA.

On a wild guess, this can be related to a firmware (microcode) issue in
iwlagn. I suggest installing linux-backports-modules-jaunty which will
cause an updated (and apparently less problematic) firmware to be

Same issue here. When asked to power down or reboot via gnome menu, this
process is initiated displaying the ubuntu shutdown screen, but then
switches to text mode and only shows a blinking cursur and hangs there
until ctrl-alt-break is hit, which will cause it to continue the
shutdown/reboot
Apparently it's really iwlagn. After unloading the module (sudo rmmod
iwlagn) rebooting works fine. A single line message is printed on screen
before the reboot actually takes place, but I am not able to read it.

For me, too, installing linux-backports-modules-jaunty 2.6.28.11.15 is a
successful workaround for this issue. I have rebooted a couple times,
but not had this issue again.
So there is a workaround, what's missing is a fix.

Probably nothing. I just had the same issue as nemixer (and the same
setup), and there was nothing matching ox in dmesg. Reinstalling
virtualbox-ose and running sudo /etc/init.d/vboxdrv start again
helped.
