[Bug 305892] Re: dpkg: ../../src/packages.c:221: process_queue: Assertion `dependtry = 4' failed

After googling i could find the answer and The bug is fixed by uninstalling the erring packages : sudo dpkg -r hal hal-info and then reinstalling them by: sudo aptitude reinstall That will solve the problem if any other file is also detected creating problem that also can be removed and reinstalled also dpkg --configure -a can be run there after. Public bug reported: Whenever any mp3 file is played in vlc media player and the equaliser is enabled. Equaliser changes its state to off ( By default it is off) that means equaliser is not working, again we have to enable it.
