My ubuntu 8.04 has a problem with the network manager It says, network

I had the same problem after upgrade from 7.10 to 8.04 RC. It seems to
boot from 7.10 kernel on dmesg because it does. It seems that during
upgrade process the new kernel it is installed but not configured on
grub's menu.lst. I edited the menu.lst manually changing the kernel
version and the error
to reinstall the mount and the nfs utils it still has the problem.
The nfs moudles are loaded.
