alright, I fixed the compile failure, it was a rather straightforward
FTBFS because libcups2-dev was not declared as a compile-time
dependency.

1. Open Nautilus
2. Insert CF card, watch it show up in the window portion labeled "Tree"
3. Right-Click on the CF card in Tree, choose "Unmount volume"
4. Observe that the entry for the CF card is still shown in Tree, clicking on
it results in http://launchpadlibrarian.net/14765662/nautilus-remov
I am on hardy, too. I'll do some more tests - time permitting - to
narrow down where this problem is coming from.

Oh, now I believe I understand better (if indeed you were doing a dist-
upgrade from breezy to dapper). breezy update-manager hung while it was
upgrading wvdial?

FWIW, a problem of wvdial into a dapper chroot worked fine just a minute
ago. I don't think this can be a machine-specific problem. Googling
for the error message returns this bug report only.

I did that and while the fonts now look very ugly, the effect you were
describing did not occur here. Why would you want such ugly-looking
fonts anyway?
