[Bug 386450] [NEW] Logitech, Inc. QuickCam Pro for Notebooks (046d:0991) Poor Frame Rates
Public bug reported: When using the Logitech, Inc. QuickCam Pro for Notebooks with device ID 046d:0991, frame rates are at around 5fps no matter what resolution is used. Using luvcview, it reports correctly what resolutions and framerates are supported. However, despite suggesting it is receiving at 30fps, the title of the window shows otherwise - around 5-8fps. It is not a usable frame rate - especially as I want to do video recording using it :) However - I loaded up Windows 7 in VirtualBox, which has all the drivers for the webcam installed and attach the webcam as a USB device. Although it doesn't work inside VB (I get a black box), when I then shut down the VM and retry luvcview on the host - the frame rates are magically at 30-40fps as expected. This behaviour is consistent across all applications (vlc, mplayer, cheese, skype) and the VirtualBox method is repeatable. I don't know enough about the inner workings, but I would speculate there is something in the Windows device driver that is changing things for the better that needs replicating in Linux! This is present on Ubuntu Jaunty 9.04. I have tried this on Karmic Koala alpha 2, with the same effect. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Logitech, Inc. [Bug 385147] Re: No thumbnails when viewing SSH share (GVFS)
I'm not creating them per say - they should automatically get created. I just loaded up my EeePC which has a clean, up to date Jaunty UNR and I'm seeing the same issue as with my Desktop. It's a bug that isn't particularly major and might get looked over - but I thought I'd report it, as it is annoying. If I go to the terminal and mount the samba share using the mount tool - i.e not browsing the network, or using GVFS, the thumbnails are there. -- No thumbnails when viewing SSH share (GVFS) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/385147 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 385147] Re: No thumbnails when viewing SSH share (GVFS)
It does it over both SSH and Samba - so I'm not sure how that could be server specific. And the same occurs with pictures on the root of the share (where there are no spaces) - i.e smb://192.168.0.113/share/ I'm using no user authentication for SMB, and standard user/pass for SSH which is held in the keyring. As I say though - if I do a symlink to the .gvfs directory - i.e /home/spode/.gvfs/share on 192.168.0.113/ The thumbnails are displayed correctly. The same occurs when connecting via sftp:// to my webserver - so a different server entirely. So I really don't think it's anything to do with the server setup and I can't think of anything specific about my Ubuntu installs that would mean the problem would be specific to me! This is the first bug I've ever filed - so excuse me if I do something wrong btw. I'm a little stumped and not sure where to go from here! -- No thumbnails when viewing SSH share (GVFS) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/385147 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 385147] Re: No thumbnails when viewing SSH share (GVFS)
After consulting the KLUG, this is a behaviour in Nautlius. In the preferences, go to the preview tab, then change Show thumbnails to always instead of local only. So this isn't bug - but perhaps the default setting has changed since the move to Jaunty? :) -- No thumbnails when viewing SSH share (GVFS) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/385147 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 361256] Re: Framerate of webcam with uvcvideo is too low
I'm getting the same problem with a Logitech Quickcam Pro for Notebooks. No matter what resolution, I get around 5ps. It's USB Device ID is 046d:0991. -- Framerate of webcam with uvcvideo is too low https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/361256 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
