Public bug reported: I'm using the Quantal version of this package, back-ported (myself) to a Precise system, however the same bug is present on Precise. Just to confirm that this issue (and the other unrelated issue I had afterwards) were solved by gstreamer-plugins-base 0.10.25.1-1.fc12 (Nov. 11 build) and exaile 0.3.0.1-1.fc11. There is a fedora package of a master build of gstreamer, gstreamer-
plugins-base from November 11 called 0.10.25.1-1.fc12.
I'm running exaile with these packages and the track changing problem is
gone. Unfortunately, something is segfaulting (from strace) at random
intervals like 3 tracks into a CD:

I confirm this : All my games using SDL cause 100% CPU (AthlonX2 3800+) instantly, this is very frustrating and could damage hardware. [Bug 116095] pppd ip-up.d scripts not executing
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ppp Hi All I'm using Ubuntu server 7.04 with a Speedtouch 330 ADSL modem, I can connect and get a working connection and manually run my iptables script but i can not get pppd to run my script located in /etc/ppp/ip-up.d/ after it brings up my connection on boot. i have set the file permission of this script to 700 and is owned by root. the script that runs is simple and like say can be run manually from the command line. Code: #!/bin/sh echo 1 /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward iptables-restore /etc/network/iptables.up.rules Aim i missing something hear. This is still present for me on Feisty, like Stephen said ...after the user ubuntu is automatically logged in then the desktop starts to render and then there is a sub-second of audio and the desktop just freezes. I can reset the desktop (Ctrl-Alt-Backspace), however the cycle just repeats. i'm not running from a LiveCD, it's installed locally to the hard disk. and also like stephen said .the problem appears to be affected by whether or not the laptop is on AC power during startup. On battery, this problem is intermittent, versus it will consistently fail when on AC. doing some digging about i found that if i remove/delete the user account and the home directory (Then Restart) and add the user account again with out any groups. i can login fine (without audio)...when i add the user account into the audio group and restart i get this behavior. sorry for the lack of info, I'm not posting for my usual hole. please ask for specifics. I upgraded to Kunbuntu Edgy to Feisty and now some wmv playback is crippled too (wmv8 / 9 ?). But the backend is not gstreamer, it's Xine in my case (Kaffeine/Codeine). Files play fine in Mplayer though. I'm set up with the medibuntu repos. Ok here's my experience then : I had regular update-notifications using Dapper beta. Now since Dapper LTS, it seems the update-notification does'nt work anymore. I still hear the typical HDD activity that precedes updates check every day, but then the icon never shows up. If I manually launch the update-manager and check for updates, there ARE packages to be updated, now if I don't install them and just close the updater, the notification icon shows up a few seconds after. I have anacron installed and running as a service. I have the same problem after upgrade from dapper beta to dapper release : The update notifier doesn't show up anymore. The update notifier daemon is running and I can still hear the hard disk activity that usually precedes the update-notifier pop-up, but it doen't show. If I manually launch the update manager and check for updates, there are usually some updates available that I was not notified of.
