Christopher M. Penalver, I had the same problem, and now it works for me, after
installing fglrx-experimental-12.
My BIOS is the old 2.52. I am currently writing on this machine, it has just
resumed from suspend as expected.
In my opinion, the bug can be closed.

make a backup of the file
/usr/lib64/ADM_glade/main/gtk2_build.gtkBuilder
edit /usr/lib64/ADM_glade/main/gtk2_build.gtkBuilder, remove these lines

I had to remove 3 lines, afterwards I could start avidemux3_gtk
