[Bug 1734697] [NEW] User forcibly logged out when they login again after Switch User
Public bug reported: What I expect to happen: User session to resume correctly after Switch User What happens User session resumes then ends abruptly on first attempt, then succeeds on second attempt Steps to reproduce Install lightdm-webkit-greeter Configure lightdm to use webkit-greeter Login Open e.g. a terminal window Logout -> Switch User Login to same user Session resumes (your terminal window will still be open) After a few moments, session exits abruptly back to webkit-greeter Login again to same user Session resumes correctly This is happening on two fresh Lubuntu 16.04 installs, on different amd64 hardware. It happens 95% of the time with all of the webkit- greeter themes I have tried, including the default. I have not been able to reproduce it with the gtk-greeter. Unfortunately I need the face browser capability of the webkit-greeter for two elderly users who struggle badly with drop-down lists. [Bug 144305] Re: sleep on powerbook crashes
This is still a problem for me in Jaunty. Additional things I've noted are that gnome does not display a suspend option, and 'lshal' reports that 'power_management.can_suspend' is false (which, I think, explains gnome not offering a suspend option). What seems interesting about this is that other threads have reported that these machines do not support hibernating, an option that gnome does offer, but that they do support sleep/suspend to ram. Manually setting 'power_management.can_suspend' to true and then using gnome's suspend functionality just flashes the screen and then presents a logon screen. If I switch to a virtual terminal and run either '/usr/lib/hal /hal-system-power-pmu sleep' or 'pbbcmd sleep' the same thing happens: the screen blanks, but the machine does not go to sleep. /proc/version: Linux version 2.6.28-6-powerpc (bui...@adare) (gcc version 4.3.3 (Ubuntu 4.3.3-5ubuntu4) ) #20-Ubuntu Fri Apr 17 08:30:40 UTC 2009 /proc/cpuinfo: processor : 0 cpu : 7447A, altivec supported clock : 1333.333000MHz revision: 1.1 (pvr 8003 0101) bogomips: 73.47 timebase: 18432000 platform: PowerMac model : PowerBook6,4 machine : PowerBook6,4 motherboard : PowerBook6,4 MacRISC3 Power Macintosh detected as : 287 (PowerBook G4 12) pmac flags : 001a L2 cache: 512K unified pmac-generation : NewWorld Memory : 512 MB -- sleep on powerbook crashes https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/144305 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 206183] Re: Gaupol freezes the system after I select Open Recent in menu
I tried your suggestions but the problem persists. What I have found is that if I comment out the item.set_submenu(menu) line (in this method and the next, because the Open Recent Translation code has the same problem) the program no longer freezes. The Open Recent menu no longer functions, of course, but it seems like a viable workaround until this bug can be fixed :-) Please let me know if there's anything else you'd like me to try. -- Gaupol freezes the system after I select Open Recent in menu https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/206183 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 206183] Re: Gaupol freezes the system after I select Open Recent in menu
Same problem here with Hardy (release, not beta), using Gaupol 0.12.3-1 package. Here's what I get if I launch Gaupol from a terminal: Universal Encoding Detector not found; character encoding auto-detection not possible. /usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/gaupol/gtk/main.py:218: GtkWarning: gtk_widget_event: assertion `WIDGET_REALIZED_FOR_EVENT (widget, event)' failed gtk.main() If I delete .recently-used.xbel I also get the: /usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/gaupol/gtk/util.py:105: GtkWarning: gtk_widget_event: assertion `WIDGET_REALIZED_FOR_EVENT (widget, event)' failed gtk.main_iteration() ..output, as per fhucho's report. I haven't spotted any similar problems with other apps (e.g. Gedit) that make use of .recently-used.xbel -- Gaupol freezes the system after I select Open Recent in menu https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/206183 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
