actually sure what it is called, when you press the super key it shows
you all your windows in the current workspace and shows the various

Solution given in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-
driver/+bug/1867474/comments/3 does not resolve issue on my install.
I've attached the dmesg

It looks like 20.04 is now using sound open firmware (sof), however, sof does
not have a driver(?) for Intel Comet Lake processors (which my Lenovo X1 Carbon
Gen 7 laptop has). Here is the relevant output of dmesg:
[3.272336] sof-audio-pci :00:1f.3: warning: No
Public bug reported:
I think it's something in the nvidia driver, as I only recently switched
to using nvida v340.106 from using the nouveau package/driver.

this was an automated prompt so I'm not sure what happened.
I think it was trying to install the OS updates from the
Ubuntu Software manager
it might need to install the
apt-get install linux-headers-4.8.0-56-generic
as well ?

I have this issue on an HP laptop VH481PA#ABG (Intel graphics)
https://h10057.www1.hp.com/ecomcat/hpcatalog/specs/provisioner/05/VH481PA.htm
In My case it's Rythym Box is the only app that is showing.
I have 2 screens with the launcher/start menu showing on both screens
and I have 'Sticky Edges'
I've had the same error by installing ubuntu server, then lxde/lxdm,
then attempting to autologin to the account set up during the server
install. Here's my xsession-errors file, the one similarity that I
spotted was a polkit-gnome-1-WARNING

If it's any help, powertop does give me an estimate (but I much prefer
the GNOME panel applet).

I think it might have something to do with the way network drives are setup
because it only happens when saving to the server, or at least I haven't seen
the error when saving to my Desktop / localhost.
I'm not sure if the connection is via Samba or NFS

This problem also exists with the 8400M GS on a Dell Vostro 1500.
