similar file) keeps playing over and over at exactly 5 second

so today i just got a msg that the gnome-sound something crashed... i
would include all the information, but when the system crash handler
went to report it, firefox wasn't running, and so when i ran firefox,
it didnt re-display all the information.. IMPORTANT THAT CRASH HANDLER
BE FIXED THAT WAY,
update: since this program or libcanberra or gnome sound control or
whatever it was crashed, none of this annoying system alert sound every
five seconds has been occurring!!! that must have been the problem
package, but now the question is, what WAS the problem? :-?

1. opened konversation. it gives the motd. i identify. then it lags, and it
eventually cuts out/reconnects. (internet http seems fine at the moment.)
2. the regular channels i have bookmarked and set to auto-open to open. none
did. nor did my identity get

then configure.. then the window pops up.. one mouses over the various
selections on the left, and the drop shadow follows accordingly for
about 5 seconds, and then soon enough, the background windows go
dark/shadowed (as if

patch, however? Should we all be using this patch, and will it fix the
issue?
I have a Quickcam Logitech Express 046d:0870, 2.26-27-7 Linux, Intrepid

OOOH I THINK I FOUND A PROVISIONAL SOLUTION! It seems that using the
linux-backports-modules-'versionname' does the trick, and uses a more
recent rt73usb/rt2x00 driver set/library which doesn't have the issues
anymore!! so said serialmonkey as well, that it could use a more
recent driver set

issue for me... i think 'cause it's a more recent rt2x00 and rt73usb
compilation from serialmonkey included... ??? so says some of the
posts by the serialmonkey authors..

that's exactly it.. i click print to file, type a customfilename.pdf,

doesn't output.. only when i click print to file and leave output.pdf

12.xx.. I believe it was all right in 11.xx.. But a kernel update

work in following suspends/resumes.. Keeps giving read error i/o error
swap error.. It's not the HD, though. Works fine with Windows. Totally a
