after some downloads, but I'm not able to remember if
there was some specific package that caused the crash.
Now the problem is solved. I installed the kubuntu 7.04 from the live
cd, then I upgrade the version to 7.10 using the adept manager on line
and the problem vanished.

you have to reboot, choose safe mode. You get into a text-mode menu.
Choose open root session (or similar. I can't remember exactly). From
there you can modify the files. You must use a terminal-based editor

does not work: resolution is correct, but just 16 colors! Last
DreamLinux and Opensuse work fine with video (but have several other

just once, connect, then re-hide). When using manual Ip settings
/etc/resolv.conf gets empty: I had to use dhcp. But now i can connect
with a pure kde installation, before I had to use networkmanager with
nm-applet: worked
