[Bug 538383] Re: Sound card not detected on Lenovo T410s with Ubuntu Lucid
@ Jimi - You may be interested in comment 18 at bug 522982. Note that the linux-alsa-driver-modules-xxx in that ppa does not remain frozen at 1.0.23, but is update daily, which means there is the possibility to introduce new bugs in the form of regressions or instability. You may also be interested in the comments at bug 557742 - Jerone Young is pushing to try and get this into the alsa-backports package in 10.04. He has also created a dkms package to resolve this issue however he has subsequently advised not to use the dkms package, but wait for alsa- backports, as apparently the dkms package conflicts with the thinkpad- acpi module. -- Sound card not detected on Lenovo T410s with Ubuntu Lucid https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/538383 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 569372] Re: 10.4 Live CD - Blank screen with Radeon 5870
Yes, anyone can run apport-collect , assuming there is not a build error in the package that the bug is assigned to (xserver-xorg- video-ati in this case) like there was in the Intel graphics driver for a while during Lucid development. And yes, nomodeset should be forcing UMS. However I found some reports in the forums that nomodeset is not working for some people, both on ATI and Intel graphics. An alternative option which seems to work is radeon.modeset=0 However I emailed ATI's Alex Deucher about the patch I mentioned in the second paragraph of comment 17. This is his reply: > I'm unsure as to what it is supposed to do/fix. Would you be able to > explain briefly for me, with references if necessary? It just expands the possible crtc mask for the output when mapping the the kms stuff to xrandr. evergreen cards have 6 crtcs. The old mask would have limited it to 4 IIRC. It only affects cards capable of more than 4 independent heads. > > In particular, does it have any relevance to the Launchpad bugs at > https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-ati/+bug/569372 > and > https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-ati/+bug/560306 > ? [Bug 376248] Re: Ubuntu 9.04 has an obsolete version of teeworlds
Currently, anyone installing Teeworlds on Lucid will probably want to update to the newly released 7.7-3ubuntu1 package. It contains the following fix (taken from the Debian changelog): +commit fdfa4c85297d5d25e7256bf73e35309b358af86c +Date: Sat Jan 23 17:27:21 2010 +0100 + + st/mesa: fix unsigned/signed breakage in scissor + + commit 53174afeeb introduced a portability change that converted GLint x,y + to GLuint. That breaks when x and y are negative, which seems to be allowed, + and which at least one game uses : teeworlds. + + Rather than simply reverting the change, it seems possible to convert the + 16bit unsigned to GLint so that comparisons are made between signed integers + instead. This hopefully does not break anything while keeping MSVC happy. This package should be included in Lucid alpha 3 and later. -- Ubuntu 9.04 has an obsolete version of teeworlds https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/376248 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Based on past kernel releases I would expect between 3 and 5 more RC's (at approximately 1-week intervals) until 2.6.33 final.
