This can happen when:
-'proposed' archive has been enabled, and a 'proposed' package version is
loaded then unloaded by the maintainer from the said archive
- some third party(ies) has been used then deactivated from the sources
So if a proposed package has been abandonned then unloaded from
When i made the same dist-upgrade, Ubuntu was moving from pulseaudio to
pipewire. The result was: no sound hardware detected.
So into a terminal i have ran:
sudo touch /usr/share/pipewire/media-session.d/with-pulseaudio
systemctl --user restart pipewire-session-manager
