Binary package hint: update-manager
I remember a while ago that that I tried to upgrade and the installation did
not complete.
now I have the message getting upgrade prerequisites failed
4 files in var/log/dist-upgrade. The fourth file, called term.log is empty.
The
, and the partitions are seen as /dev/hdax.
Conclusion:
- it takes 2m30s to boot where it should take 30s to boot
- IDE (P-ATA) devices are seen as SCSI devices
- it is most likely related to the kernel
... it would be nice if someone could look into this

The download phase lasted about 2 hours (with a 100Mbps link!, but actual rates

After the upgrade to Gutsty, I crossed fingers when seeing many bug reports

several cameras not detected. At least for mine (Canon 20d), all works fine
(gphoto2, f-stop)
and I was happy to see that the bug about the date has been fixed.

I first tried to use the reinstall functions of synaptic, without success.

I have just tested the 2.6.24-1-generic kernel and there is no
difference with 2.6.22 (I have also checked that it is still working
after a windows XP shutdown). With this new kernel boot process is not
complete since I guess my nvidia modules does not match the new kernel
but I could check

I got the same result after newgrp plugdev,
It works with sudo, but even then, the access to the mount point is denied.

The access problem occurs with gphotofs as well as for gphoto2.
The workaround I use is a chmod of both programs to rws-r-sr-x

It's a pain, though. Installed 6.06 LTS on my neighbour's computer
thinking I won't have to upgrade it every six months. Now it appears

The crash is not reproducible. I did install Kubuntu amd64 (on second disk
drive)and Firefox did not crash when i do printing. Also with Ubuntu Live CD
AMD64 it did not crash.
I solved this on my installed Ubuntu system, by backup bookmarks,

Same problem on Ubuntu 8.04 with Wine 0.9.59: I start ie6 from ie4linux,

Could you be a bit more precise ? The bug you refer to seems to have a
