This bug happens when you have multiple gnome-terminal's opened. And
*if* you close one *window* (and not exit the shell), and afterwards you
change a profile setting... then the crash happens.
Hope

When I restart the computer it informs me on login that amarok has crashed

I really need help on finding the cause of the following issue that
occurred after upgrading to Gutsy. I'm an experienced user, but this
really dazzles me.
I have a dual boot, feisty/gutsy. After upgrading from feisty to gutsy
my sound output is noise under the audio.
I
Okay,
stupid me...
If I mute the microphone, the noise disappears.
No microphone is plugged in, so it's kind of weird.

I think you might be right. I installed the distro update via package
manager last night and everything seemed to go smoothly until the reboot
to load jaunty for the first time. The system hangs immediately after
grub loads the OS. tried booting into recovery mode/CLI with the same
result-
just downloaded and ran jaunty live cd beta and it successfully booted
into x, although appears to be 16 bit screen depth looking at the screen
quality. please see Xorg.0.log for jaunty live cd attached.
