LDAP was causing me heaps of problems, but the Bug is not specific to Ubuntu. It appears that a plugin in Evolution (installed by default) is at fault. It is highly likely that your LDAP settings are fine, you just need to disable the Exchange Operations plugin. To do this, click Edit, then
