Problem is still present in Ubuntu Lucid 10.04 (up-to-date), with the very same symptoms: the DVD live image appears to survive suspends but the HDD installed image hangs upon resuming from suspend. I have also tried with and without the acerhk driver (used for the Wireless LED / software rfkill)
