[Bug 151539] Re: No easy way to revert pppoeconf's configuration changes

2010-05-09 Thread Agony
@frederik.nnaji:

I haven't had to setup a PPPOE network in a long time, but I read some
time ago that Network-Manager supports them. Did you try using Network
Manager to configure your pppoe netowrk?

on Ubuntu 9.10 you could edit it this way: right click on the network
manager icon - edit connections - DSL - add

[Bug 368934] Re: Keyboard and touchpad inactive after suspend

2009-12-07 Thread Agony
I'm sorry to reopen this bug, but I guess it hasn't been fixed
completely. I have upgraded and not done a fresh install, so my grub is
grub (GNU GRUB 0.97)

My wacom does activate again after I resume from suspend, but keyboard
and touchpad(I hope that's what it's called) do not. When resuming from
hibernation everything works though.

2009-07-06 Thread Agony
I am running the SVN version of inkscape rigt now. It doesn't have this
issue.

Still, I hope some fix is released for 9.04, not everybody can upgrade
to karmic as soon as it's released and inkscape is a very widely used
program.

[Bug 369846] [NEW] inkscape poisitions itself below kde panel

2009-04-30 Thread Agony
Public bug reported:

When running inkscape in Ubuntu with the kubuntu-desktop installed
inkscape won't resize vertically and always seems to take up 100% of the
screen height. This wouldn't be much of a problem if it didn't go under
the kde panel.

I use an HP laptop with a 12.1 screen, the resolution is 1280*800

[Bug 369449] [NEW] bug with kde taskbar grouped items

2009-04-29 Thread Agony
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kubuntu-desktop

Way to repuduce:

Have enough windows open that one or more item will group, but still
have multiple items in the taskbar(for me right now: 2 pidgin, 1
konsole, 2 firefox, 1 okular)

press on one of the grouped items(e.g firefox), you get a list of items
to chose from

navigate to another item in the taskbar(e.g firefox) and press it, first
click will make the list for the first item disappear, second click
brings that list back instead of opening the list for the new
application(in my case firefox)

Note: doesn't happen if you move the mouse between the first and second
click(easy in my case because I use a laptop)

[Bug 310894] [NEW] spumux not adding subtitle stream

2008-12-23 Thread Agony
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: dvdauthor

Hello,

Arabic support has been a long standing problem with spumux(specifically
it's bidi library didn't support shaping) so I tried to add the
subtitles as images(about 1000 pngs, each 3 colors) as the spumux page
specifies.

I tried this with multiple videos and multiple subtitles, some would
work, others wouldn't. Sometimes the same video file would add 1
subtitle stream but not the other. The file size *did* change, but vlc,
mplayer and ffmpeg all couldn't find a subtitle stream in the file.

In all cases spumux gave no errors.

This seems to be the only program that is capable of adding softsubs to
mpeg video streams, having it not work is a huge drawback(for me at
least)

2008-01-08 Thread Agony
True, but how can I tell my 15 years old cousin that she has to do
this every time she wants out of pppoe mode and into regular ethernet?

I could do it if there were some graphical interface like Network
manager to do it, but unfortunately the only graphical interface is
pppoe, which doesn't offer that functionality.

Don't get me wrong, I love command line and do a lot of things through
it, but some things(kind of what regular user's need) should have a
graphical way to configure, turn off/on.

 whether there's a ppp# running since that'll be what's 'hijacking' the
connection, and you can easily disable that by sudo poff -a-ing. I
don't think that this is so much a problem with pppoeconf but with
something else trying to force a DSL connection when one clearly doesn't

[Bug 151539] No easy way to revert pppoeconf's configuration changes

2007-10-11 Thread Agony
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: pppoeconf

After configuring my PPPoE connection with pppoeconf I bought a router,
trying to connect it to eth1 doesn't work because pppoe still claims
that connection.

The way to solve this is to manually edit configuaration files from what
I saw, this is a serious usability bug for anybody who happens not to
know which files to look at. Ideally it could be solved with pppoeconf
--revert or a similar command being added.
