just a quick update: using Kernel version 4.15.0-39-generic I was able to
connect to wifi, but after switching on and off some times the Wifi...so the
problem is partially solved, but there is still something not working fine.

not solved.
Wifi seems, connect, but I cannot ping my domestic router...it seems that there

I've just found out why the auth log is not present: empathy-auth-client
was not running...if I manually start /usr/lib/empathy/empathy-auth-
client, the Empathy.Auth appears...
P.S. I'm behind a proxy, but Gtalk was working on oneiric (even if
connecting to Gtalk was requiring some minutes...)
Is it possible to backport this fix to Oneiric?

I'm duplicating this bug on bug 267376, and then I'll subscribe 267376
to backports..so every backporters can see progress of Chris and test
packages, because it said to me that there are some issue with gvfs
Adding Hardy/Intrepid backports to the bug, so backporters can begin to
test packages...but as Chris said to me I think we should wait for
backport OOo 3 because there are still some issue (e.g. gvfs)...

I'm attacching new debdiff from pidgin_2.5.3-0ubuntu3 to
