There really isn't much to say. Here's what happens when I try to run
krename in my terminal:

This is after a clean install of both Ubuntu and Krename.

preventing an upgrade to 10.10. Removing it lets the upgrade proceed as

This bug affects me too. It seems to be caused by use of file systems
that don't have a Trash. I've got my photo collection on an nfs mount
point, and Shotwell fails to remove them when I choose to have them
removed from disk as well as the photo library.

One is a Maxtor Onetouch III, the other is a Seagate FreeAgent Desktop.
If it matters, they are both cryptsetup LUKS disks.
I just tested in gedit, and using the file selector did not cause the
drives to spin up. Then I tried navigating nautilus again, and this
time, just the Maxtor disk spun up.

A whole year later, and this is still not fixed. I would just switch
from using the whole drive to a partition that fills the whole drive,
it's just that the drive is 500 GiB, and more or less full, and I don't
have room to move the stuff around to fix this problem that way. Why

I know this has been marked as a duplicate of another bug, but that
bug's description doesn't agree with my problem:

I'm having this issue, and
1) Disabling “Use gpg-agent for passphrases” does nothing, nor does enabling it.
2) Seahorse does not seem to have any Passphrase Cache tab in its preferences.
Due to this, I'm unable to fix my problem, as TomT's solution no longer
works. (The fix was reported for
Never mind. The setting has just moved. Instead of going to
Applications-Accessories-Passwords and Encryption Keys, you go to
System-Preferences-Encryption and Keyrings. It has a PGP Passphrases
tab, where you can fix the problem, as mentioned in TomT's last message.

Okay, I am now pretty sure that the kernel panic has seized occuring

Well, I just installed the 2.6.27-11 kernel, but not enough time has
passed to see if it will crash on me. X, on the other hand, seems to be
disliking my graphics driver, as just scrolling in Firefox is now a
sluggish process. It used to be smooth. OpenGL has also stopped working.

My Ubuntu has been crashing sporadically ever since I updated to 8.10.
Sometimes the system is able to run for days on end, other times, I turn
the computer on, go downstairs to grab a bite, and when I'm back, the
system has locked up at the login screen. In all cases, the

Actually, this thread here:

It worked for me, anyway.

I'm not sure if it's the same problem, but I'm also having issues with
Inkscape 0.46 in Hardy Heron. (that I did not have with 0.45.1 in Fiesty
Fawn) The minimum height of the window is larger than my desktop, so I
cannot get to the lowest toolbar, and maximizing the window makes
nothing happen.
Doing what was suggested in #221676 fixed my problem. Thanks.

I can confirm this bug on my system as well. I have the whole disk

although the password box shows up, nothing happens when I enter it. If
I attempt accessing the disk again, I'm once again asked for the
