It'll take me a couple of days to get to running apport-collect, but I can confirm that as of about a month ago, this was still an issue with the 12.04 live CD. It's going to take me a couple of hours to put my test setup back together. I'd be happy to spend some time debugging this if someone will hold my hand through it a little. I haven't done any kernel work and I'm not sure where to start. [Bug 897562] [NEW] RT2600 PCI wireless connects with no throughput in 3.0.0
Public bug reported: I'm able to connect to my router, and am assigned an IP, but can't ping the router or anything else on the network, nor can it ping me. The problem appears when I boot with a 3.0.0 kernel (-12 and -13 so far), but it works fine when I boot with 2.6.38-11. The attached bug report is from 3.0.0-13-generic. I'm not sure whether this is really a kernel issue. Please let me know if there's any more information I can provide. I'd offer technical help, but I've got no idea where to start. I also experienced this. I had the full Unity crash, and recovered with something like this - the key was unity --reset http://ubuntu4beginners.blogspot.com/2011/04/missing-top-and-side-panels-in-unity.html Then enabled desktop cube with these instructions, which was fine: http://ubuntu4beginners.blogspot.com/2011/05/enable-desktop-cube-in-unity-ubuntu.html Then checked Notification in ccsm, which crashed Unity. sudo service gdm restart fixed it. Then I enabled Shift Switcher and the menu bar got corrupted. Screenshot attached.
