I have the same modem, 9.10 with all the updates, still the E220 is
detected as a mass storage unit, and dmesg reports a lots unknown
device errors. If I rmmod the usb-storage module then I can connect
from the network manager interface with no problems. So I'm pretty
sure it is a kernel issue

Same behavior for an Acer 751, which has the same chipset.
Had to to downgrade kernel from 2.6.28-13 to 2.6.28-11, to have the graphics
back (and anyway without 2D HW acceleration)

Hi,
Ubuntu Intrepid with latest updates. I have a creative ZEN Stone (1 GB) not
being shown in the RB tree. Gnome shows it in the desktop, ask whether I want
to launch RB, and from Nautilus I can browse the device as usual.
Nevertheless I can't manage to have it shown and handled in RB. In 8.04

Hi, after upgrade from 8.04 to 8.10 rhythmbox does not longer shows my
creative zen 1 GB when I plug It. The devices is correctly mounted by
gnome, i can see the icon on the desktop and I get prompted if I want to
open rhythmbox.
Is this a different bug or still related with this one?

After the release upgrade MTP was not checked (it was in the 8.04, because I
used rhythmbox to transfer files to the player)
I checked it but the Creative Zen is not detected. I have a 30GB Ipod (5th
gen), which is correctly handled even in 8.10, but I know is taken by another
Update, I found out that the bug has been already open: Bug #270203.
A fix has been already released but did not work for some guys, neither worked
for me.
Let's wait :-)
