[Bug 423071] Re: PHP5 now depends on libapache2-mod-php5 even if lighttpd installed

2012-03-08 Thread Charles Dumont
The problem is not only between php5 and apache :

mediawiki depends on mysql (What if you prefer pgsql ?)
mediawiki depends on php5 - depends on apache (What if you prefer Lighttpd ?)

It seems like mysql and apache are taken as if there would be no
alternative (and as if there couldn't be any). Please fix

Thanks

[Bug 794540] Re: Unable to do anything

2011-11-24 Thread Charles Dumont
This works today having python 2.7 or 2.6

The problem is that these are not dependencies of the plugin. I couldn't
imagine at the moment that I had to install a previous version, I just
thought I had to have the latest version installed...

Of course, i really would love to see python 3.2 work on Monodevelop (I
continue to hope)

I would also appreciate that the last version is the one selected by
default

[Bug 880803] [NEW] xml parser error makes firefox crashing

2011-10-24 Thread Charles Dumont
Public bug reported:

Hello,

I was debugging some xml files when I found that, each time there are a parse
error, the interface turns freezing and the CPU used by firefox is above 100%
(typically 101%).
Then the only thing it seems I can do is kill the process then restart it. I
actually tried to close the tab, then open e new one but the interface is just
like freezing due to the CPU usage level; and the problem actually does remain
for the URL that caused the crash, even (all right) if I fixed the xml
problem before reloading.

[Bug 662048] [NEW] b43-fwcutter does not extract the firmware

2010-10-17 Thread Charles Dumont
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: b43-fwcutter

Hello

The Maverick package version of b43-fwcutter does install the
b43-fwcutter tool but does not automate the firmware extraction. I even
tried to do it myself but the binaries were unexistant. I resolved the
problem by using the Lucid version, then it worked right at the install.

using:

Ubuntu 10.10 Server (yes, my server has a wifi ;))
version 1:012-1build1 (found on lucid repository) instead of 1:013-2 (from

[Bug 566170] [NEW] window manager display problems

2010-04-18 Thread Charles Dumont
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xorg

Hello, I didn't see any obvious relation between this bug and anything else,
neither software install nor modification but it appears after an update.
Sometimes, spontaneously, the border of the windows is hidden, and it's unable
to move them using neither the keyboard nor from the panel menu with mouse, but
only grabbing the menu area at the top whether the window displays one. The
forms inside the different opened windows are still focusable, but the level of
them cannot change anyway. It's also unable to change of desktop item, but the
panel still works properly (menus are accessible by instance) I tried to
restart the window manager using Fusion Icon, or switch from Compiz to
Metacity, switch from Gtk-decorator to emerald, but nothing changes that,
neither during the bug nor switching before, and that always happens.

i'm using an up-to-date fresh install of Lucid

[Bug 384617] [NEW] bad result when trying to convert from mp3 to wav or flac

Hello, everything is in the summary: when trying to convert a file from mp3 to

- containing anything listenable: the sound is covered with very loud parasites

sorry, I had some problems with my internet connexion then I couldn't answer...
yes, this issue is still in the release. more, I installed the jaunty release
on a friend's laptop, with the same graphic card than me, an XPress 200M: he
has exactly the same problems. this tends to prove it comes from the driver I
think...

I'll do the backtrace getting manipulation as soon as I can with the ssh

spoke about then the second just after, very quickly.

I hope you'll understand in the way i don't speak english very well :D...

[Bug 360417] [NEW] x server crash

2009-04-13 Thread Charles Dumont
Public bug reported:

Hello, using Jaunty

I don't know precisely what paquage is in fault, but I figure it comes
from compiz-fusion. often when I use the plug-ins sélecteur en anneau
or sélecteur en cascade, the x server just crashes and I go back to
the gdm.

I use the free x.org driver for my ATI XPress 200M. this pug-ins worked
very well under Intrepid with the proprietary driver (it worked no at
all with the free one)

[Bug 359631] Re: X11 mouse theme does not apply

2009-04-12 Thread Charles Dumont
Ok, i made some more tests:

i didn't fiddle anything: no installing theme, no deleting theme, so just
trying to change from a preinstalled one to another.
i saw more details:
when the cursors theme might be changed (manually or via another whole theme)
nothing seems to have been changed. then i restart my session: it's changed !...

[Bug 217507] Re: Screenlets hide on show desktop without compiz

2009-02-27 Thread Charles Dumont
** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: screenlets

Hello, I am using Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Beta with Screenlets 0.0.12.

This version allows using Screenlets without Compiz (just metacity), and
the problem is, clicking on the Show Desktop button hides the Screenlets
along with other windows. It would be better if there was some option to
oppose this behavior. This becomes a bit annoying after a while when it
is necessary to minimize all windows to see the Screenlets. GDesklets
however, don't dissapear on show desktop.

Many thanks for a fix or a solution!
+
+ [EDIT]
+ Hi I'm using Ubuntu 8.10 (tested under 9.04 alpha5 too)
+
+ Same problem, but with no difference using compiz or not.
