Problem occurs on my LG gram laptop with Intel AX2-1, running Kubuntu
21.10. Disconnects/reconnects occurred sporadically for a week or two
recently but now it fails to reconnect, even on reboot. Log shows the
same error messages reported above.

I can confirm getting same errors on an LG gram laptop, running Intel
AX201 wifi hardware. I get frequent disconnect and reconnects until
finally, it failed to reconnect, despite reboots. I also see the message
concerning a microcode software error.

that the desktop does actually start after a resume from suspend, but
the screen remains blank, with the backlight on. (To determine this, I
used a keyboard shortcut to launch a terminal window and typed a reboot
command
I tried returning to 10.10 after the kill switch proved permanent in
11.4. It was still stuck. Re-installing 11.4 from scratch didn't help.
Could it be that something is set in the BIOS? Or could it be in my
home partition (which was carried over).

I am also affected by this bug on my Dell Inspiron 640m.
Top causes for wakeups:
31.4% (170.9) kernel core : hrtimer_start_range_ns (tick_sched_timer)
23.5% (128.2) firefox : hrtimer_start_range_ns (hrtimer_wakeup)
17.1% ( 93.1) interrupt : extra timer interrupt
Update: while _alsactl is still segfaulting at boot, sound somehow
started working. I don't believe I did anything to make it work,
although regular updates were installed.

Some additional information.
Running sudo alsactl init yielded syntax errors in the file
/usr/share/alsa/init/default. At several lines in the file, the braces were
mismatched: Eg,
ENV{has_pmaster_vol}==true,CTL{values)=100%,GOTO=headphone0_end
I fixed those errors, after which alsactl
