[Bug 1081748] [NEW] moving large amounts of data with hyper-v server causes lockup
Public bug reported: I receive the following stack trace in my dmesg output and I lose connection to my server when moving a large amount of data on my Ubuntu 12.04 lts server that is on Hyper-V. This happens when copying data from my server over scp to another server or even tarring up a local directory on the server. If I throttle the backup for example with the pv command to 50mbps I dont have any problems. I monitor my server with Nagios and it always says it went offline when moving large amounts of data. I am not sure what else to go on. I encountered this bug when doing an installation of ubuntu alternate amd64 from a USB stick. The USB-Stick was created using UNetbootin. (As usb_creator didn't work for me). A workaround that worked for me is: (from Bug #976509) On your USB-drive: - cd to pool/main/x/xserver-xorg-video-ati/ - Make sure all files end with the _amd64.deb (or _i386.deb if your'e on i386) extention. A fix is pending for that issue and should be available in the next karmic kernel. Thank you for the information. There are many profiles enabled in the default install which greatly improves the security of your machine, and disabling all of AppArmor is not recommended. It is still an issue with firefox-3.0RC1. This is related to another bugreport complaining about firefox's inability to detect which programs are installed for which mime-types. [Bug 197781] Re: [Hardy] Firefox preferences - some categories do not work if clicked too fast
@asac: Sorry, didn't know, that package firefox was actually firefox 2. Thanks for changing the affected packages! @John: I tried to trigger the bug on two different notebooks and also with a clean profile, as you suggested and it is still present, although, it is harder to trigger the bug on faster computers (as the bug only occurs when a tab in the preferences-window couldn't be loaded, because the user switched to a different tab fast enough). Quite a certain way to trigger the bug is: 1. Open Preferences 2. Use the tab-key to change the focus until the tab-bar is selected. 3. Press left-key/right-key and keep holding it down for a while, so that the cursor races through the different tabs (Privacy, Security, Advanced, etc.) 4. Now click each tab and see that tabs some do not show any content/ the content does not change when changing tabs. Maybe you could try again to trigger the bug on your machine? [Bug 183209] Re: doesn't let user examine installation process any more
Hmm... As of now (up-to-date hardy alpha 6) I am not seeing any change in the behaviour of update-manager. When will the latest synaptic come to hardy? -- doesn't let user examine installation process any more https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/183209 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 148207] Re: Thunderbird and Kmail indexing has been disabled
Does anyone know, if tracker version 0.6.6 supports indexing thunderbird emails yet? I could not find anything in http://www.gnome.org/projects/tracker/index.html but I am not sure as the release notes are pretty brief... Would be great to have tracker supporting thunderbird-search though it's probably not going to happen in hardy either... -- Thunderbird and Kmail indexing has been disabled https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/148207 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
