Yup I'll second that, it seems to do ok under Unity with the global menu. but not under Gnome shell or Gnome2.3 with out a global menu. I hope things can be re-done to have the window automatically resize as the status bar and toolbar are enabled or disabled, and when switching between images

I think its possibly the same bug, the other one is more technical bout the reason it happens. But even when the tool bar and the status bar are turned off and the a Global menu is used making nothing but the title bar show, there will still be a one or 2 pixel wide bar on either left or right
