[Bug 629171] Re: Microphone not working in Lenovo 3000 V100

2010-11-12 Thread Daniel González Gasull
I think some automatic update made my machine install some other drivers
from backports.

I installed the ALSA drivers as explained in comment 2 by Luke above and
it's working again (using Microphone 2 in the Sound options for input).

I don't know if this is an inconsistent state and I will stop working in
a few days. Maybe then I'll have a better idea of the automatic update
that is messing with this.

I still have this issue. Why is this marked as fixed when it isn't?

[Bug 629171] Re: Microphone not working in Lenovo 3000 V100

2010-10-04 Thread Daniel González Gasull
Hi Luke.

Yes, I installed updates. I install any updates that the Update Manager
tells me to. And as far as I remember, I updated the kernel.

Any logs I should look at?

Thank you.

[Bug 629171] Re: Microphone not working in Lenovo 3000 V100

2010-09-03 Thread Daniel González Gasull
Luke,

My apologies. It actually does fix the problem. But after updating the
drivers I need to change the connector in System - Preferences - Sound
- input - Connector. The new drivers show 2 connectors there:
Microphone 1 and Microphone 2. While the old drivers shown only one
microphone. Choosing Microphone 2 did the trick.

Thank you for your help. I hope these directions will help someone
else.

[Bug 618515] Re: man page shows wrong syntax for irc:// URLs

2010-08-16 Thread Daniel González Gasull
The result for me when running

xchat -e irc://irc.freenode.net:8001/xchat

is that it opens xchat in a new instance and it doesn't open the channel
#xchat.

[Bug 618515] [NEW] man page shows wrong syntax for irc:// URLs

2010-08-15 Thread Daniel González Gasull
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xchat

man xchat displays wrong information about how to open a irc:// URL.
According to the man page it should be, e.g.:

xchat -e irc://irc.freenode.org:6667/xchat

but the correct syntax is

xchat -e --url=irc://irc.freenode.org:6667/xchat

** Affects: xchat (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 618515] Re: man page shows wrong syntax for irc:// URLs

2010-08-15 Thread Daniel González Gasull
Just for the sake of testing the error, the right URL above is
irc://irc.freenode.net:8001/xchat

So, again. The syntax according to the man page:

xchat -e irc://irc.freenode.net:8001/xchat

The right syntax:

xchat -e --url=irc://irc.freenode.net:8001/xchat

[Bug 342760] Re: gnome-ppp setup interface does not save data

It seems that you have to run gnome-ppp as root.

Right click on Applications in the Gnome panel. Select Edit Menus -
Internet - Gnome PPP - Properties - Command: gksudo gnome-ppp

Hope this helps.

sudo /etc/init.d/cups restart

then hp-setup will work and find the PPD file for my printer.
