Re: [Bug 205854] Re: Progress bar flickers during redraw

2008-03-29 Thread Daniel Sargeant
I tested it again after the update and it still flickers. Unfortunately I
do not have a camera to record a video with. To be a little more
descriptive, the orange of the progress bar will occasionally flash black.
By the way, I have an intel x3100 graphics chip. Others might not be seeing
the flicker because vsync works with their graphics chip and the frame is
drawn during the screen refresh. The theme shouldn't have to rely on this,
though, and should only redraw what is necessary. The progress bar
background should only be drawn to the frame on the parts that were orange
before and aren't any longer. Glancing through the code, I think that
usplash_put_part can be used to only draw a portion of the image.

[Bug 12153] Re: Cannot use Windows key in keyboard shortcuts

2008-03-05 Thread Daniel Sargeant
Changing the keyboard layout does work for me as well, using Gutsy (that
I believe was upgraded from at least Feisty, so is not a fresh install).
I noticed that the Super is mapped to the Win-keys (default) claims
it's default. The problem, I think, is that Alt and Meta are on the
Alt keys (default) also claims it is default and is higher in the list
of options.

[Bug 151015] Re: Broken packaging in Ubuntu 7.04

2007-10-11 Thread Daniel Sargeant
As I noted in my previous comment, I was able to install it once I
enabled the following dependency using the Software Sources gui:

deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ feisty-updates restricted main
multiverse universe

Still, I think that it is odd behavior to have an out-of-date bughelper
(0.1.13) available in the default repositories that is reported broken.
Thanks for the help.

[Bug 151015] Re: Broken packaging in Ubuntu 7.04

2007-10-10 Thread Daniel Sargeant
Thanks for the response. I've attached my sources.list. This is also a fresh
feisty install, fully updated. I didn't manually change any settings. From
your advice I ran software sources to make sure the repositories you mentioned
were checked. The updates tab - Recommended updates box had a horizontal line
through it instead of a check mark (I assume this means some but not all of the
associated repositories are enabled). I checked the box and tried to install
bug helper again. It worked. I ran a diff on the before and after
sources.list and saw that the following repository was added:
deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ feisty-updates restricted main multiverse
universe

Note that the attached sources.list is from before the fix and is the
default on a fresh feisty install.

[Bug 151015] Broken packaging in Ubuntu 7.04

2007-10-09 Thread Daniel Sargeant
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: bughelper

When I run sudo apt-get install bughelper I get:
bughelper: Depends: python-bughelper (= 0.1.13) but it is not going to be
installed
The current version of python-launchpad-bugs is 0.1.13.2 but bughelper and
python-bughelper require version 0.1.13.
Should bughelper depend on python-launchpad-bugs = 0.1.13 or is there an api
change that prevents this?
I'd be happy to assist in a fix for this, but I would need some mentoring.

I had the same issue. If you use 'pidgin' instead of 'gaim' as the
command to start pidgin your preferences are loaded.

I also renamed my ~/.gaim file to ~/.gaim~ to make sure that the
preferences weren't being read from there. The preferences seem to be
saved in ~./purple.

[Bug 147839] Preferences are not saved after log out.

2007-10-01 Thread Daniel Sargeant
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: pidgin

To duplicate:
1. change a Pidgin preference. The fastest is Buddy - Show - uncheck Buddy
Details.
2. Logout of Ubuntu
3. Login to Ubuntu
4. Open Pidgin. The preference you changed has been reverted to the default.

[Bug 147839] Re: Preferences are not saved after log out.

2007-10-01 Thread Daniel Sargeant
After further exploration, preferences are not shown when runining
pidgin using the gaim command. I set gaim to automatically run in my
session preferences (a relic of ubuntu 7.04). Prior to pidgin 2.2.0
using the gaim command correctly read my preferences.
