[Bug 1048865] Re: The focus randomly changes between windows if easystroke is in use and the evdev driver is built with mtdev
Hi. Today easystroke has been updated in the archlinux's repos. I've tested with 3 different drivers - xf86-input-evdev 2.7.3 built with mtdev driver - xf86-input-evdev 2.7.3 built without mtdev driver - xf86-input-evdev 2.6.0 built without mtdev driver I haven't found this issue with any of the three drivers. [Bug 1001429] Re: scroll doesn't work with my touchscreen
This bug is still present with easystroke 0.5.6 and xf86-input-evdev driver 2.7.3 built with mtdev 1.1.3 driver, scroll doesn't work at all. With xf86-input-evdev driver 2.7.3 built without mtdev driver scroll works with huge lag, it's almost useless. With xf86-input-evdev driver 2.6.0 built without mtdev driver scroll is perfectly smooth and I haven't notice any issue. Do you want easystroke -v output? [Bug 1001429] Re: scroll doesn't work with my touchscreen
A little update; in my Arch system I've downgraded xf86-input-evdev from 2.7.3 to 2.6.0 (built without mtdev) and now the scroll works perfectly in easystroke 0.5.5.1. I've had a lot of problem with all the 2.7 evdev drivers (from 2.7.0 to 2.7.3), so maybe this is not an easystroke issue. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1001429 Title: scroll doesn't work with my touchscreen To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/easystroke/+bug/1001429/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1001429] Re: scroll doesn't work with my touchscreen
Hi Tom. First of all, thank you for easystroke, it's a 'must have' software in a tablet. I don't use ubuntu anymore, I've moved to Arch. I've found that easystroke behavior depends on if evdev driver is built with or without mtdev, so I have just tested - easystroke 0.5.5.1 from Arch repo - easystroke 0.5.4 compiled from sources, replacing 'lboost_serialization_mt' with 'lboost_serializationt' in Makefile and - xf86-input-evdev 2.7.3 from Arch repo (mtdev is a dependence) - xf86-input-evdev 2.7.3 built from Arch PKGBUILD but removing the mtdev dependence I have 2 scroll gestures, named 'Gesto 3' and 'Gesto 4'. These are the results of the 4 combinations, I've repeated 3-4 times the gestures in gnome-terminal. By the way, I use LXDE with openbox. *** easystroke 0.5.4+evdev without mtdev: scroll is PERFECT! [Bug 1048865] [NEW] The focus randomly changes between windows if easystroke is in use and the evdev driver is built with mtdev
Public bug reported: I have a wetab tablet, I used ubuntu 12.04 with easystroke 0.5.4 and xserver-xorg-input-evdev 2.7.0 from official repos. I have a strange problem, the focus sometimes changes between windows. For example, if I have a text editor and a terminal opened, click in the editor and write with the onboard keyboard, I expected that my text were written in the editor. However, the focus moves to the terminal and the text is written in the terminal. Clicking in the editor window doesn't return the focus to the editor, but moving the editor window gives the focus to the editor. It's only an example, the problem don't depend on the editor and the terminal, lots of apps seems to randomly change the focus. I've tested in the same tablet with Arch Linux, which uses xf86-input- evdev driver with mtdev support, and the problem persists. However, rebuilding the same evdev driver but without mtdev support the problem dissapears. I've noticed that this problem doesn't appear if easystroke is not in use. So this problem seems to be connected to easystroke, evdev and mtdev. My tablet has an egalax touchscreen. I've read the same problem in a different machine with the same touchscreen: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=147264 Wish this information helps ** Affects: evdev Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: mtdev Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: easystroke (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: mtdev Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: evdev Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1048865 Title: The focus randomly changes between windows if easystroke is in use and the evdev driver is built with mtdev To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/evdev/+bug/1048865/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 887145] Re: Two banshee icons in the panel
Hi Omer, I'm afraid it's not solved. I've tested in ubuntu 12.04 64bits fully updated. A lot of programs work fine, but I've found some others that create a second icon in the panel: texmaker, calibre, ex falso, avidemux, gconf-editor, workrave, easytag, synaptic, dconf-editor... Moreover, I've found an intersting behaviour in banshee: if I open banshee from dash it works fine, it uses the banshee icon in the panel; However if I insert a music CD (which automatically opens banshee in my machine) then a second icon in the panel appears. [Bug 899793] Re: Ubuntu One sync emblem ruins text icons
Live icons is a great feature in my opinion. For example when I run latex I obtain .tex, .log, .aux, .out and pdf files, and when I combine latex and maxima I also generate .mxx, .mac and .mac.log files. 8 files with the same name with only differ in extension, 7 of them text files. My icons are not extremly large (they are out of the box, I haven't resize them) and I can see 4 lines of text, 5 characters in each line. Those 20 characters allow me to instantly recognize which one is the .tex file, wich one are .log, etc, I don't need to look at the extension. That's the reason which I love live text icons. I attach a picture. ** Attachment added: Text icons https://bugs.launchpad.net/hundredpapercuts/+bug/899793/+attachment/3060091/+files/Pantallazo%20del%202012-04-13%2018%3A42%3A43.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/899793 Title: Ubuntu One sync emblem ruins text icons To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ayatana-design/+bug/899793/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Only for your information, in several applications as vlc, fbreader and calibre, unhide only works bad in some textboxes, and it works fine in another ones. skype is quite absurd example: it works fine with password textbox: 2012-04-02 01:44:36,654:DEBUG:KeyboardGTK: At-spi focus event: name=, role=enum ATSPI_ROLE_COMBO_BOX of type Role(combo box), editable=True, states=1124075906, extents=Rect(x=766 y=408 w=258 h=27)] 2012-04-02 01:44:36,674:DEBUG:KeyboardGTK: At-spi focus event: name=, role=enum ATSPI_ROLE_PASSWORD_TEXT of type Role(password text), editable=True, states=1128274306, extents=Rect(x=766 y=477 w=258 h=27)] 2012-04-02 01:44:36,711:DEBUG:KeyboardGTK: At-spi focus event: name=, role=enum ATSPI_ROLE_PASSWORD_TEXT of type Role(password text), editable=True, states=1128274306, extents=Rect(x=766 y=477 w=258 h=27)] 2012-04-02 01:44:36,746:DEBUG:KeyboardGTK: begin opacity transition: 0.0 to 1.0 but it works bad with user textbox: 2012-04-02 01:44:23,373:DEBUG:KeyboardGTK: At-spi focus event: name=Terminal, role=enum ATSPI_ROLE_TERMINAL of type Role(terminal), editable=False, states=1124079872, extents=Rect(x=66 y=639 w=722 h=393)] 2012-04-02 01:44:23,395:DEBUG:KeyboardGTK: At-spi focus event: name=Terminal, role=enum ATSPI_ROLE_TERMINAL of type Role(terminal), editable=False, states=1124079872, extents=Rect(x=66 y=639 w=722 h=393)] 2012-04-02 01:44:23,601:DEBUG:KeyboardGTK: At-spi focus event: name=, role=enum ATSPI_ROLE_PASSWORD_TEXT of type Role(password text), editable=True, states=1128270210, extents=Rect(x=766 y=477 w=258 h=27)] 2012-04-02 01:44:23,627:DEBUG:KeyboardGTK: At-spi focus event: name=, role=enum ATSPI_ROLE_PASSWORD_TEXT of type Role(password text), editable=True, states=1128270210, extents=Rect(x=766 y=477 w=258 h=27)] 2012-04-02 01:44:23,680:DEBUG:KeyboardGTK: At-spi focus event: name=, role=enum ATSPI_ROLE_PASSWORD_TEXT of type Role(password text), editable=True, states=1128270210, extents=Rect(x=766 y=477 w=258 h=27)] 2012-04-02 01:44:23,797:DEBUG:KeyboardGTK: begin opacity transition: 0.0 to 1.0 2012-04-02 01:44:24,196:DEBUG:ConfigUtils: image «close.svg» aún no encontrada, intentando de nuevo en las rutas predeterminadas 2012-04-02 01:44:24,197:DEBUG:ConfigUtils: image «/usr/share/onboard/layouts/images/close.svg» encontrada. 2012-04-02 01:44:24,198:DEBUG:KeyGTK: loading image '/usr/share/onboard/layouts/images/close.svg' 2012-04-02 01:44:24,212:DEBUG:ConfigUtils: image «show-click.svg» aún no encontrada, intentando de nuevo en las rutas predeterminadas 2012-04-02 01:44:24,214:DEBUG:ConfigUtils: image «/usr/share/onboard/layouts/images/show-click.svg» encontrada. 2012-04-02 01:44:24,215:DEBUG:KeyGTK: loading image '/usr/share/onboard/layouts/images/show-click.svg' 2012-04-02 01:44:24,220:DEBUG:ConfigUtils: image «move.svg» aún no encontrada, intentando de nuevo en las rutas predeterminadas 2012-04-02 01:44:24,229:DEBUG:ConfigUtils: image «/usr/share/onboard/layouts/images/move.svg» encontrada. 2012-04-02 01:44:24,231:DEBUG:KeyGTK: loading image '/usr/share/onboard/layouts/images/move.svg' 2012-04-02 01:44:24,251:DEBUG:ConfigUtils: image «snippets.svg» aún no encontrada, intentando de nuevo en las rutas predeterminadas 2012-04-02 01:44:24,253:DEBUG:ConfigUtils: image «/usr/share/onboard/layouts/images/snippets.svg» encontrada. 2012-04-02 01:44:24,253:DEBUG:KeyGTK: loading image '/usr/share/onboard/layouts/images/snippets.svg' ** (python:7240): WARNING **: AT-SPI: AddAccessible with unknown signature ((so)(so)(so)a(so)assuau) ** (python:7240): WARNING **: AT-SPI: AddAccessible with unknown signature ((so)(so)(so)a(so)assuau) ** (python:7240): WARNING **: AT-SPI: AddAccessible with unknown signature ((so)(so)(so)a(so)assuau) 2012-04-02 01:44:24,360:DEBUG:KeyboardGTK: At-spi focus event: name=, role=enum ATSPI_ROLE_PASSWORD_TEXT of type Role(password text), editable=True, states=1128270210, extents=Rect(x=766 y=477 w=258 h=27)] 2012-04-02 01:44:24,365:DEBUG:KeyboardGTK: At-spi focus event: name=, role=enum ATSPI_ROLE_COMBO_BOX of type Role(combo box), editable=True, states=1124080002, extents=Rect(x=766 y=408 w=258 h=27)] 2012-04-02 01:44:24,379:DEBUG:KeyboardGTK: At-spi focus event: name=, role=enum ATSPI_ROLE_COMBO_BOX of type Role(combo box), editable=True, states=1124080002, extents=Rect(x=766 y=408 w=258 h=27)] 2012-04-02 01:44:24,698:DEBUG:KeyboardGTK: begin opacity transition: 1.0 to 0.0 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/936310 Title: Some applications don't 'auto-show' onboard To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/onboard/+bug/936310/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com

[Bug 936310] Re: Some applications don't 'auto-show' onboard
Hi Francesco. I'll try to be clearer. - Open dash (click on the left upper botton with the ubuntu logo). The cursor is in the text box to find applications, so onboard must auto-unhide. However it doesn't. - Open nautilus, right-click on a file and select Rename... It is not exactly a text box, but the name of the file is selected and the cursor is on it expecting for a new name, so onboard must auto-unhide, but it remains hidden. In my opinion the importance of this bugs is low (maybe the dash a little bigger) because manual unhide allows to use onboard even if auto- unhide fails. The design of auto-show is fine, and a timeout will also be nice. Both options are OK while manual unhide/hide pauses auto- hide/unhide. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/936310 Title: Some applications don't 'auto-show' onboard To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/onboard/+bug/936310/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Glad to hear your're working in the single instance. All my albums have an embedded cover in the first song of the album, but in the picture yo can see that only a few are shown in the album list. 'Reload album cover' doesn't seem to do anything. And something more weird, if I close and reopen quodlibet then the album list view show the covers of different albums. That is, there are covers that sometimes are shown in the album list view and sometimes there are not shown. And some others, as the song I sent you by e-mail, are never shown in the album list. By the way, I've noticed that 'coverart' and 'coverartmime' tags have dissapeared in quod libet and ex falso, I don't know if it is normal. ** Attachment added: Some covers aren't shown in the album list view https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/quodlibet/+bug/930808/+attachment/2734196/+files/Pantallazo%20del%202012-02-12%2018%3A11%3A38.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/930808 Title: quodlibet can't read embedded cover art in ogg files To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/quodlibet/+bug/930808/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 917386] Re: Unity panel doesn't fit with onboard hide button
I've just installed onboard 0.97.0~preview~tr713~sysdef-0ppa~precise1 in precise alpha2, and now onboard can't be minimized to the unity panel, because unchecking 'Show status icon' automatically marks 'Show floating icon when Onboard is hidden'. Is this a bug or is it by design? [Bug 917386] [NEW] Unity panel doesn't fit with onboard hide button
Public bug reported: 1) I use ubuntu 11.10 completely updated 2) I use onboard 0.96.2 from the stable PPA 3) In unity, when I open onboard with 'show status icon' option marked then a small icon appears in the top bar, and when I click on 'Hide onboard' button with the X mark the icon remains on the bar (that's OK). When I open with 'show status icon' unmarked then a big icon appears in the left panel (that's OK). I expected that clicking on 'Hide onboard' minimizates onboard but the icon in the left panel doesn't dissapear. 4) What happened instead: the onboard icon in the left panel dissapears, so in this case the onboard window can't be recovered and it's necesary to open a new onboard instance. Moreover, the 'Hide onboard' icon (X) is confusing, because it's similar to classical 'close' sign. I haven't notice that that button minimizates onboard instead of closing it, and I open a new instance over and over; I didn't know but I had more than 20 onboard instances opened (12MB of RAM each one). Please note, the classical small 'minimize' button in the window decoration worked fine with the unity left panel, it's your own 'Hide onboard' button which doesn't. ** Affects: onboard (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/917386 Title: Unity panel doesn't fit with onboard hide button To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/onboard/+bug/917386/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 739812] Re: Must use hardware keyboard to perform search for applications in Unity
I'm affected with this bug (I posted bug #915250) and I'll explain why I think this bug is critical. Sorry for my English mistakes, I'm Spanish. I bought a tablet with ubuntu 11.10 preinstalled. The company which sells the tablet made his own oneiric iso image with some special additions for tablets. The default desktop in the iso is gnome-shell, and unity-2d was also preinstalled. unity doesn't. I installed unity by myself, and I found it perfectly usable in the tablet (I made a lot of tweaks, for example I remove overlay-scrollbar, but unity worked fine, IMHO much better than gnome-shell unity-2d). The only problem I found in unity is this bug of onboard and dash. I don't know anybody in the company and I don't know why they removed unity and include unity-2d and gnome-shell, but I wasn't surprised that it was for this bug. If so, if a bug makes a hardware vendor remove unity and include gnome-shell, I can imagine a bug more critical than this one. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/739812 Title: Must use hardware keyboard to perform search for applications in Unity To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/739812/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 916056] [NEW] Missing mouse buttons
Public bug reported: I use onboard 0.96.1-0ubuntu0.1 on ubuntu 11.10 completely updated in a tablet. Suddenly the mouse icons and preference icons have disappear, I attached a pair of screenshots in a zip file. Please note, the icons are missing but the buttons are still present, so if I press in the place where the icon must be onboard do what it's supposed to do (for example, the red button in the second screen opens the settings window). However it's very difficult to press in the right place for the mouse buttons. I'm not sure if both things are related but I must comment that Onboard worked fine until I activated 'force to top' (from Bug #915250). I've tried to disable that option, change transparency, different theme, compact and full keyboards, unity, unity-2d, gnome-shell, gnome classic desktops... Same bug.I've tried to change some parameters in Ubuntu Tweak, but the icons are still missing. There are 12 .svg files in /usr/share/onboard/layouts/images and eog can open them. I've uninstalled and reinstalled onboard 0.96.1-0ubuntu0.1 and the problem persists. I have a PC and onboard works fine on it, I can't reproduce the bug in the PC. I've compared /usr/share/onboard and ~/.onboard in the PC and in the tablet and they seem the same to me, so I'm not sure if it is a bug from onboard or from another package. I don't want to reinstall ubuntu, but onboard is very important in my tablet and without mouse icons it's hard to use. Any idea? Thanks for the answer, Sebastien. You don't have to sorry, it's a pleassure to speak with you. What I'm trying to tell is that ubuntu and gnome developers don't know who or where those 1% people can be. Maybe I'm the 1% of a lot of removed options, I gave you those examples for a reason. - There's a computer room in my University with old PC's that don't work fine with Unity, I'm pretty sure that I've tested automatically login in Unity-2D and didn't work, it always started in Unity, so I believe that I have to edit a file to solve this problem. However I've just tested in my own PC and you're right, the automatic login respects the last desktop udes. Maybe I did something wrong when I tested, maybe a recent update changed this. It doesn't matter, the main thing is that it works. Thank you so much for your comment, I have one less problem for the new course :-D - Thanks for the link of the groups. In the last course I propose an exercise: I have a wife and a child, everyone with their own account, and I want that my wife can read my files but my child not. Not a problem for me, but bad for new users. - For the power button, I use my computer as a DLNA server to watch in my TV movies that I have in my hard disk. When I finish to watch them I used to (in Ubuntu 11.04) 1-Press power button and go to bed However now I have to (in plain ubuntu 11.10) 1- Turn monitor on and wait a few seconds until it responds 2- Enter my password (because screen is locked) 3- Press power button or click on power off upper-right menu 4- Select power off and go to bed I'm afraid that tweak tools I've used (gconf-editor, Ubuntu Tweak) only allow to remove the confirmation of menu in the upper-right corner, not the power off button, so I can only remove a step (in ubuntu 11.10 with tweaks) 1- Turn monitor on and wait a few seconds until it responds 2- Enter my password (because screen is locked) 3- Click on power-off and go to bed I had to apply a different approach to have in ubuntu 11.10 the same behaviour than in 11.04. I understand you, Sebastien. But in my opinion the key is the word 'previously'. There are lots of things that were easily configurable in 11.04 and now those options are lost. I've given five examples in gnome- control-center: configure laptop lid, power button, screensaver, user groups, automatic login in unity-2d (or gnome-shell). I'm an 'experienced' user and I can solve those kind of little misfunctionalities, but I'm pretty sure that new users can't solve those kind of problems. And I must think as a new user because I used to be a teacher in a linux course in my university. Last June we choose ubuntu 11.04 in the course, and everybody were surprised how easy, but also how configurable it was. We'll have a new course on next February and I'm not sure what distro/DE will use, because ubuntu 11.10 (moreover gnome3) is a big regression in terms of configurability. [Bug 880331] Re: Can no longer shutdown when laptop lid closes
I agree. I miss a lot of things in this new gnome-control-center. For example, in ubuntu 11.04 (gnome2) we can easily configure laptop lid, power button, screensaver, user groups, automatic login in unity-2d... All those things have gone in ubuntu 11.10 (gnome3), now Gnome-Tweak and Ubuntu-Tweak are essential. Honestly I can't understand the stiffness of gnome3 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/880331 Title: Can no longer shutdown when laptop lid closes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/880331/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 880331] Re: Can no longer shutdown when laptop lid closes
Hi Gilles. You can solve this bug (or missfunctionality) of gnome- control-center using dconf-editor instead of gconf-editor. Open dconf- editor and navigate to org - gnome - settings-daemon - plugins - power. Set 'lid-close-ac-action' and/or 'lid-close-battery action' to 'shutdown'. You can also solve this problem with Gnome-Tweak, navigate to Gnome- shell and modify 'Laptop lid close action on battery' and/or 'laptop lid close action when on AC' Wish this helps. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/880331 Title: Can no longer shutdown when laptop lid closes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/880331/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 887806] [NEW] wxmaxima is not in the 'open with' nautilus menu
Public bug reported: wxmaxima saves sessions in wxmx files. This files are identified as zip files and opened with file-roller in nautilus (I would prefer wxmaxima instead of file-roller, but it's not a bad idea because I think wxmx files are only xml files with zip compression, so this is not a bug). However I'd expect that I can open them with wxmaxima at least with right click in a wxmx file, but wxmaxima is not in the 'open with another application' menu in nautilus, and I think this is a bug. I'm using ubuntu 11.10 64 bits and wxmaxima 11.04.0-1. I've solved this problem: 1- sudo gedit /usr/share/applications/wxmaxima.desktop 2- Replace the line Exec=wxmaxima with the line Exec=wxmaxima %U Now wxmaxima is in the 'open with' menu, and wxmx files can be open from nautilus wxmaxima graba las sesiones en archivos wxmx. New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/887806 Title: wxmaxima is not in the 'open with' nautilus menu To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/wxmaxima/+bug/887806/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I want to install CDemu, so I have added to synaptic: $ echo deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/cdemu/ubuntu intrepid main | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/cdemu.list $ sudo apt-get update Everything is OK, in /etc/apt/sources.list.d there's a new file cdemu.list, and http://ppa.launchpad.net/cdemu/ubuntu intrepid main is marked in the Synaptic third party repositories. However, a quick search for cdemu can't find anything. The regular search works fine and finds 7 packages. With a new sudo update-apt-xapian-index both searchs work fine. I hope this might help. -- [Intrepid] Synaptic unusable - Can not find packages https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/288797 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 288797] Re: [Intrepid] Synaptic unusable - Can not find packages
Hi! I'm a new Ubuntu user. I had the same problem with the quick search and the sudo update-apt-xapian-index fixed it, thanks guys. I've observed one thing that might help you to find the problem. When I start Synaptic, it shows all the packages, but when I write 2 or more letters in the Quick Search, it automatically show ONLY THE INSTALLED PACKAGES whit these two letters. Sorry for my bad English, I'm Spanish. -- [Intrepid] Synaptic unusable - Can not find packages https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/288797 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
