[Bug 998918] Re: openvpn openssl.cnf file missing
This is exactly the problem I encountered and which needs fixing. As a work around, I added a link to openssl-1.0.0.cnf with the name of openssl.cnf in the same directory: cd /etc/openvpn/easy-rsa sudo ln -s openssl-1.0.0.cnf openssl.cnf This worked, created the necessary certificate file and it is all working fine now. But that means that something is wrong with the package, as it seems to be missing a file. It also strikes me that there may be a missing openssl-1.0.1.cnf file. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/998918 Title: openvpn openssl.cnf file missing To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openvpn/+bug/998918/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

so have I, but the script whichopensslcnf (in the easy-rsa directory of openvpn) expects to find an openssl.cnf file in the same directory as itself ** Package changed: ubuntu => openvpn (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/998918 Title: openvpn openssl.cnf file missing To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openvpn/+bug/998918/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 998918] Re: openvpn openssl.cnf file missing
Sory - thats is porely explained. The problem is the openvpn package needs a openssl.cnf file for the correct version of openssl which is 1.0.1. As it does not have one, it defaults to openssl.cnf which does not exist. Creating a link openssl.cnf >> openssl-1.0.0.cnf seems to solve the problem. Hope that explains it a bit better. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/998918 Title: openvpn openssl.cnf file missing To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/998918/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 218268] [NEW] Internet radio Sound terrible in Hardy Heron
Public bug reported: I have a Gigabyte GA-73PVM-S2H motherboard with onboard sound (Realtek ALC889A). This did not work at all under Ubuntu 7.10, but after installing Bete of 8.04 in a test partition it came to life following a few CODEC downloads. YouTube works fine, BBC iPlayer works fine for TV broadcasts, but then I went to use BBC iPlayer to listen to some earlier broadcasts - sound is uninteligible. Distorted, completely unusable. [Bug 155176] Re: Gutsy Package corruptions
I tried several times to run the 'apt-get install ubuntu-desktop' without success, interspersed with the 'apt-get -f install', all to no avail. It is definitely some sort of file corruption. I have now managed to copy the two files from another source, and completed the install of the desktop. The system was a fresh install of the 7.10 server edition, followed by the install of the desktop which failed. The Server CD was set up as a resource and requested during the desktop install, but I amnot sure whether the files were copied from the CD or the internet. I had performed the check of the CD after burning it. What would have been nice is if there was some way of forcing the files to be removed or refreshed. Anyway, I copied replacements of the files from another machine and was able to complete successfully the install. thanks -- Gutsy Package corruptions https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/155176 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
