[Bug 935443] Re: sipwitch version 1.0.3-1 FTBFS on i386 in precise
sipwitch 1.0.1 and later require a minimal version of ucommon 5.0, whereas the ubuntu (universe) archive only has a ucommon 3.2.x. A corrected libucommon-dev (= 5.0) build dependency should be added to the control file for this package, and an appropriate ucommon release will need to be added first, before it can be built. More current releases of sipwitch (1.4.0 or later) now require ucommon 6.0 or later, and a complete example of the most current releases of ucommon, sipwitch, ccrtp, sflphone, libzrtpcpp, and the new switchview package can be found in our ppa, all built for precise (https://launchpad.net/~gnutelephony/+archive/ppa). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/935443 Title: sipwitch version 1.0.3-1 FTBFS on i386 in precise To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sipwitch/+bug/935443/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 868970] Re: User should be able to disable Akonaditray when akonadi/nepomuk is not used
I already start with an empty session by default, and I had tried the methods suggested for adding akonanditray to the ~/.config/autostart and then disabling it there, and this DID NOT work, even though indeed it shows up in the start up as disabled. Clearly it seems like it should work. In fact, the ONLY method that I have found which does work is to edit the /usr/share/autostart desktop file for it, though this is a horrible solution since of course it will be replaced on each system update. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/868970 Title: User should be able to disable Akonaditray when akonadi/nepomuk is not used To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kdepim-runtime/+bug/868970/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 754618] Re: Failed to open home directory
I have encountered this exact issue also, and also on a machine where I am using an encrypted home directory. Rebooting does also make it go away when it happens; simply logging out and back in is not sufficient to do so. It was also a newly installed system, so there was not much that yet had been tweaked or configured. Next time it happens I will see if there is also any log messages. Particularly I suspect maybe it is some issue with fuse mounting on top of ecryptfs. ** Changed in: thunar (Ubuntu) Status: New = Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/754618 Title: Failed to open home directory -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 754618] Re: Failed to open encrypted home directory
I think I can reproduce this bug. It seems to happen explicitly after I log out (to gdm) and then log back in again. I could setup a user with a non-encrypted home on this same machine to see if the behavior is truly specific to encrypted homes only or is related to some session/login issue on it. But now that I can reproduce it, it should be easy to answer these and perhaps other questions. [Bug 718150] Re: Newer Version Available
Technically, it should be libucommon4 (and libucommon4-dbg), not libucommon3. The library package name is numbered based on the API (linking) version. Anything built against a libucommon3 historically would expect to link against the libucommon3 instance of the package, and anything new or rebuilt would link against the most current libucommon4. For abi numbering you should always check the major version number of LT_VERSION of configure.ac in my packages. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/718150 Title: Newer Version Available -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 635199] Re: [armel] the ./H5detect test segfaults when built for armv7
You are correct in that the test is done at runtime, but of course this actually only happens once at configure time for the package, which means it is using the runtime characteristics of a specific archive build machine, and at the time only. The behavior just happens to currently appear relatively consistent so far given the subset of ARM hardware and the given release that is being actively supported, but this is certainly not guaranteed to remain so. Hence I do happen to agree this methodology is itself flawed in the case of ARM. -- [armel] the ./H5detect test segfaults when built for armv7 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/635199 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

It is also an entirely new baseline upstream release (5.0) as well as a rename. [Bug 635415] Re: armel build failure (uses internal outdated libffi)
There are specific reasons the patch was done the way it was: First, it did not make sense to modify in any way the build of plt- scheme on other architectures this close to release. We would have had to rebuild all packages dependent on it, and verify they were not broken as a result of such a change like the one originally proposed to change the linkage and use an external instance of libffi. Hence, I sought a change that only effects and resolves the issue for armel without risking effecting the builds on any other architecture. Second, because of the way libtool works, it strips out most cflags options when compiling .S files. For this reason, the only clear way to force feed the necessary option from the debian rules was to override CC itself. -- armel build failure (uses internal outdated libffi) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/635415 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

To clarify this a little further, maverick has both valac 0.9.7 and valac-0.10. The package as archived currently in Maverick, by default, chooses valac-0.10 when building, which actually seems odd to me. However, even forcing valac 0.9.7 to be used, it still fails to build from source. I have produced a preliminary package based on the brand new 0.1.21 release of gnome-dvb-daemon, and this does rebuild successfully under Maverick. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: automoc Currently we cannot rebuild many kde packages from universe from armel because, while other issues with kdebindings, etc, have been fixed, we have a new problem where automoc4 now crashes when ran. This is a consistent failure, and so I was able to get a simple trace of it with debug libraries loading simply running automoc4 in a build directory under gdb. [Bug 625996] Re: ClamAV antivirus engine requires updating
In Maverick, we have 0.96.1 of clamav in the archive. This is just one rev out from upstream (0.96.2). [Bug 622919] Re: Missing autostart directory
I am looking at: http://standards.freedesktop.org/basedir-spec/basedir-spec-latest.html The plural use of $XDG_CONFIG_DIRS suggests maybe multiple directories can be specified for /etc/xdg, but the specification does not itself come out and say so, as it does clearly in the case of $XDG_DATA_DIRS. So it may be possible to set XDG_CONFIG_DIRS to multiple paths. You can also change this using the ~/.profile of your current user account to directly set XDG_CONFIG_DIRS. -- Missing autostart directory https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/622919 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 624510] Re: Copying To USB Is Very Slow In Ubuntu 10.04
Thank you for this report. This may depend on the underlying filesystem used on the USB drive, it's properties, and whether it is a filesystem supported natively or through fuse. Also, not all USB ports on a PC are necessarily the same. Some systems have a mixture of USB 1.0 and 2.0 ports, and USB 1.0 tends to be much slower in base I/O speeds. Finally, any USB drive likely will be slower than a build-in harddisk simply because often you have a USB device that then converts USB to SATA or PATA bus to actually talk to the actual drive. If you can identify the filesystem on the USB drive, it may help better understanding this issue. -- Copying To USB Is Very Slow In Ubuntu 10.04 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/624510 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 619621] Re: some errors in source
Thank you for this report. I have checked this, and indeed this is both correct and still an issue in current Maverick sync'd from sid. [Bug 616274] Re: gparted menu entry depends on gksu
gparted does have gksu as a recommends:. However, if the gksu package is manually removed by the user, then yes, gparted running from the menu will be broken. This I think is true for other sudo requiring gnome/gtk packages when ran from menus on KDE and I imagine conversely true for KDE apps that use kde's sudo menu entries when on gnome. Perhaps what is needed is an alternatives method to support different sudo via a symlink based on the desktop. This is a broader question of course, like the idea of a sensible-sudo that might for example be a script that uses $DESKTOP_SESSION. The packager could also change gksu from a Recommends: to a hard Depends:, but I think this is not a good solution. -- gparted menu entry depends on gksu https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/616274 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 602748] Re: please update syncevolution to latest stable version
I just checked, and unfortunately sid does not have a later update as yet either. So actually this cannot be done as a pure sync request (from Debian), but rather I think would have to be submitted as a new upstream update, which means a new ubuntu package has to be built (can of course be based on the existing debian packaging, but would be something like syncevolution-1.0-0ubuntu1), and a debdiff created from the current package in the archive to the new one. [Bug 615457] Re: [FFe]Please update ucommon to 3.3.5
ucommon 3.3.4 or later is also mandated for gnu sipwitch 0.9.0 or later, and there is a linaro blueprint that loosely hangs on that. [Bug 615457] Re: Please update ccscript to 4.2.0
This bug is invalid, or really should instead be please update ucommon to 3.3.5. This is because current ucommon releases now both include and produce the ccscript library package. I can attach a diff between what we have in the archive presently and what we should have. I have attached the packaging I currently use for ucommon internally, which really probably just needs to have the maintainer changed in the control file and the changelog replaced and updated from the archive one. [Bug 613937] [NEW] ftbfs - maverick mutter on armel
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: mutter I have been working on a patch for this, and simply needed to track this item. This fails to build from source due to arm specific casting alignment issues in async-getprop.c. Some are pointer casts in derived callbacks, such as XPointer to AgPerDisplayData. Others involve conversion argument casts. One case involves a direct cast between a pointer to a card32 and long. In each case, armel has specific alignment issues for these data types that make them not directly castable. I had experimented with creating intermediary buffer objects and using memcpy, but this is rather ugly. ** Affects: mutter (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Assignee: David Sugar (dyfet) Status: New ** Tags: armel ** Changed in: mutter (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) = David Sugar (dyfet) -- ftbfs - maverick mutter on armel https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/613937 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
