So I don't know if this will help or not, but I have troubleshot my P50
turns off on resume from sleep issue. I have Ubuntu on a 2 TB Samsung
970 EVO NVME SSD (with 2B2QEXM7 firmware). If I remove the password
(User and Master) from this disk resume from sleep works. I have 2
other Samsung SSDs
So my fix worked for a couple of days, then stopped working. I think
there was a kernal upgrade a couple of days ago (on Ubuntu 20.04, now
running 5.4.0-37-generic), and I am now shutting down on resume. Sleeps
normally, LED blinking, displays off, no heat produced. When I open the
lid the LED
I have the same issue with 8260 on 20.04. Without backports installed
the wi-fi worked but there was often a very long delay when connecting
to or loading a site. Ran speed test (google speed test) and there was
a 15 - 20-second delay connecting to the server, but then good speed

Add me to the list of those having this issue, but also have a partial
fix. I am running a Thinkpad P50 with Nvidia display adapter. 18.04
was great, never any issues with suspend or resume. I upgraded to 20.04
a couple of weeks ago and immediately began encountering the reboot on
resume issue.

Well, it was not a firmware update that fixed it. I'm on Qubes 4.2
right now and it still has the problem, Qubes is using Xfce 4.12 as
it's desktop manager, which I believe is Ubuntu based. Some update to
Ubuntu must have fixed the problem and it hasn't been rolled into the
Xfce version Qubes
As requested I downloaded the latest build and ran it from USB. After
selecting hybrid graphics in BIOS I booted up and was delighted to see
no mouse trails on the 2nd monitor!
I then rebooted back into 16.04 leaving hybrid graphics selected - no
mouse trails!
I think there was an Intel

I am having a nearly identical problem with my P50 and an ASUS external
monitor.
In my case the trails last for a second or two then go away until I move
the mouse again. I have the same distorted cursor problem.
I've tried connecting with DP and HDMI, using proprietary or community
drivers,
