I can confirm this bug still happens on ubuntu 12.04 final release. A way to reproduce is hard to detail, but generally while switching windows and a finger on the touchxpad, causes it to work in scroll mode only. So basicall with the move of a finger up or down the scroll is activated. After verifying throughly, I can see that even though there is an active patch in the debian/patches that clearly should fix the only remaining ubuntu delta. A change is still needed to avoid FTBFS. I was able to upgrade my pc without any issues, I think this may have been an issue with syncing of mirrors and updating the list on your pc. the version in the archive is thunderbird_3.0.4+nobinonly- 0ubuntu4_i386.deb and the versión update manager is looking for is thunderbird_3.0.4+nobinonly-0ubuntu2_i386.deb. It must have been an issue with servers syncing. It is suggested to wait a few days for mirrors to be less crowded before atempting an upgrade. Steps to reproduce remain the same. on a fresh Install Karmic Alpha 3 1) Click on Hardware Drivers 2) Note it does not display posible installable drivers for my broadcom card. what should happen: 1) it should display b43 and allow me to install it. I am currently doing upgrades on the fresh install to see if it fixes the issue as a side note linux-restricted-mod is not installed upon a fresh install. This should add the binary blob necesary to run any propietary drivers for my card. Public bug reported: When installing Broadcom STA wireless driver on Kubuntu Netbook Image Karmic Koala 9.10, Jockey-KDE fails to notify the completion of the instalation. I canceled the installation fo the driver after waiting for 30 minutes for the driver to install. after I cancelled the install I noticed jockey-kde marked the driver as active. The driver had been installed and jockey-kde did not notify, instead it just showed the progress bar stating it was downloading adn configuring the driver. I am currently running ubuntu on a 64 bit machine with the detailed aplications and I am able to switch apps and watch the DVD. Would you be kind enough to elaborate on this error. Are you running a web browser with a flash plugin (flash video site: (youtube or others)) that may me interfering with the audio of your apps.
