Fresh install. After loosing dual boot due to Windows Update, wanted to
reinstall Ubuntu. All install almost done, when trying to install grub,
failed.

Same problem here. Any intense inbound data transfer will trigger it,
but is seems that outbound transfers are good.

Hi Folks,
I just have de same error: ath5k phy0: noise floor calibration
failed (2412MHz).
The message floods my system _AFTER_ wired card 02 installation -
everything is working, but the message apears everywhere.
My configuration:
Kernel: 2.6.32-22-generic

xdpyinfo reports 96 DPI while the monitor has 103.
I am using Xorg-Edgers; I hope it's OK to report the problem here
anyway.

thanks for taking care. It seems the problem has been fixed in the
meantime.
Firstly, shortly after opening this bug I found a nice workaround:

I am running Karmic, freshly installed on an SSD. An upgrade yesterday
brought me from kernel 2.6.31-11.36 to 2.6.31-11.38. Since then the
system feels very slow when reading from disk (even slower than when
running from a hard disk instead of the SSD). hdparm -t confirmed
The bug is in hardy heron beta, too.
