I can also confirm that it still affects me in 11.10. Reducing window size makes the content appear in 11.10 and it used to do so in 11.04. But that is not a lot of consolation, in some cases the window had to be reduced beyond practicality in order to show content. :-( -- You received this bug

For me lid close detection worked in 9.10 for Suspend, but did not work when I just wanted screen light to be turned off (it stayed on). No difference whether plugged or unplugged. Now, after an upgrade (not new install) to 10.04, it stopped working on my hp mini 2140 entirely. -- HP 2140 Lid
