[Bug 1585551] Re: gnome-settings-daemon leaking memory after idle
Even though I didn't do anything and it fixed itself, But I can confirm that I have a dual monitor setup. a qHD display that my Intel CPU cant support by default at max resolution and I have to use xrandr to add custom resolution on X initiation. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1585551 Title: gnome-settings-daemon leaking memory after idle To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/1585551/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1585551] [NEW] gnome-settings-daemon leaking memory after idle
Public bug reported: Hi When my system goes to idle (lock and black screen), GDM starts to get slow. and if I let it be in idle for longer time it will be more and more slow. Also at this point the gnome-shell is slow too and gnome-settings-daemon starts to leak memory. again with more idle time gnome-shell will be more slow an gnome-settings-daemon will leaks more memory from 7MB up to more than 7GB. (ending process of gnome-settings-daemon and restarting shell with "r" command fixes these problems until next idle) I'm using gnome ppa (ppa:gnome3-team/gnome3) I have reported a bug for GDM3 too https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm3/+bug/1581937 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 16.04 Package: gnome-settings-daemon 3.18.2-0ubuntu3 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.4.0-22.40-generic 4.4.8 Uname: Linux 4.4.0-22-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.1-0ubuntu2 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: GNOME Date: Wed May 25 13:53:27 2016 InstallationDate: Installed on 2016-04-22 (32 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu-GNOME 16.04 LTS "Xenial Xerus" - Release amd64 (20160421) SourcePackage: gnome-settings-daemon UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: gnome-settings-daemon (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug gnome3-ppa third-party-packages xenial -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1585551 Title: gnome-settings-daemon leaking memory after idle To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/1585551/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1242109] Re: Ubuntu System Settings - default applications not working properly
I have this bug too Some times I can't set default applications neither in "System Setting>Details>Default Applications" nor with "right click on the file and select the default application in properties dialog". I checked the "mimeapps.list" file in "~/.local/share/applications/", and saw by every try to set default application, it doesn't edited as it should.
