[Bug 2054826] Re: screen log filename length is capped at 70 characters
seems like screen -S "$magic" -Logfile "${screen_logfile}" is not a drop-in replacement for screen -S "$magic" -X colon "logfile ${screen_logfile}^M" in my use case, at least for the time being, logfile is expected to be set after the session is already created also, my terminal windows are 166 character wide -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2054826 Title: screen log filename length is capped at 70 characters To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/screen/+bug/2054826/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 2054826] Re: screen log filename length is capped at 70 characters
as a workaround you can make a softlink to your logfile. the length of the filename of the actual logfile doesn't matter, the length of the filename of the softlink should be below 70 chars. And make your screen to log into the softlink -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2054826 Title: screen log filename length is capped at 70 characters To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/screen/+bug/2054826/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1868901] [NEW] [feature request] the virtual group name of the installed system is always ubuntu-vg
Public bug reported: Hello, whenever I install ubuntu the installed virtual group always gets named "ubuntu-vg". That way it's easy to have a VG name ambiguity (two VGs named "ubuntu-vg"). There might be several ways around: name the VG like "vg_${hostname_of_the_yet_to_be_installed_system}" or 10+ random alphabetical characters additionally to any of the aforementioned solutions you can ask the user for it in a textbox available under an "advanced options..." button. Thank you in advance. Imre note to self: I need to attach the /var/log/installer/syslog and /var/log/installer/partman files. I figured out a workaround: # apt remove iio-sensor-proxy --purge then reboot, from that point your screen is always upside down, you need to issue $ xrandr --output eDP-1 --rotate inverted after every login. [Bug 1861495] [NEW] during cold boot my usb-c ethernet adapter does not get initialized
Public bug reported: Hello, it's a stupid setup but it still should work: there's an USB port on my machine (which I believe to be an usb 2.0 port), into this port there's an USB3 hub plugged in. into this hub there are several things plugged in, including the external sata raid hdd enclosure I boot from, and including an USB3->usb c adapter. And my usbc->ethernet adapter is plugged into this usb c adapter. when I cold boot, most of the time this ethernet adapter does not work https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/p7mMy5W5Vn/ when I unplug this ethernet adapter and replug it, it gets initialized correctly from [ 105.668260] here: https://termbin.com/isca root@af1:~# lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu 19.10 Release:19.10 root@af1:~# dmesg |head -n2|grep -F 5.3.0-29.31 -c 1 if you need any more info feel free to ask me thank you for the fix in advance. [Bug 990113] [NEW] after searching a word the input field loses focus
Public bug reported: Steps to reproduce: 0. launch OpenDict (when you do so the input field has the focus) 1. now write a word in the field and press enter the input field loses focus. The best solution would be to give the focus back to the imput field, and select the whole content of it, so the user can begin typing again to search for a new word ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.04 Package: opendict 0.6.3-3 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.32-41.88-generic-pae 2.6.32.59+drm33.24 Uname: Linux 2.6.32-41-generic-pae i686 Architecture: i386 Date: Fri Apr 27 23:01:42 2012 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx - Release Candidate i386 (20100419) PackageArchitecture: all ProcEnviron: PATH=(custom, user) LANG=hu_HU.utf8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: opendict ** Affects: opendict (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 lucid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/990113 Title: after searching a word the input field loses focus To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/opendict/+bug/990113/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

This wasn't fixed with an update. This was fixed by deleting some wine related config files. Also I wouldn't consider as an invalid bug. [Bug 873068] [NEW] ubuntu crash while using firefox
Public bug reported: hello, I experience a crash only when I'm using firefox lately (since this happened ~4 times in the past two days and never before, the flashplugin installer (recently upgraded) could be suspicious also). After the crash my mouse pointer can be moved by moving the mouse, but it doesn't chane shape any more, and I can't click, ctrl+alt+f1 doesn't work also, and can't power off the machine just by momentarily pressing the poker key, so actually I need to press it for a longer time for a forced immediate poweroff. [Bug 797114] [NEW] For some reason alt+f4 doesn't always closes the topmost window
Public bug reported: Hello! When a new window pops up (e.g. I launch an app), it becomes the topmost window, however for some reason it doesn't always gets the focus so, in this case when I hit alt+f4 it closes some other window in the background. The taskbar tells correctly which window is the active, but I consider this as a bug since I meant to close the topmost window. This behaviour needs some extra time, extra attention from the user before hitting alt+f4. Doesn't happens always, but happens quite often. [Bug 729846] [NEW] system policy doesn't manage to enforce
Public bug reported: there is some system policy which wants to grant you don't restart/shut down the machine while there is any other users logged in. when I have a root shell open in an xterm (sudo su -) it sometimes asks for a password sometimes doesn't ask for a password (always the same user, didn't checked that I always want to do it). if there's no dialog to ask for my password it simply shuts down/restarts the machine. If there is, and I click cancel it just logs me out of my X session, which essentially kills the corresponding root session (and I can restart/shut down the machine from gdm without further questions). so in short this system policy doesn't manage to enforce that I cannot restart/shut down the machine while there's other users logged in.
