[Bug 1827808] [NEW] Drag and Drop from Desktop Failure

2019-05-05 Thread JOSEPH E CONNER
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 19.04 64bit (affected by bug 1823004) using Thunderbird 60.6.1
(64-bit) auto-installed as a part of the 19.04 upgrade.

A .pdf could not be dragged from the desktop to an open email composed.
I could however drag the .pdf when the .pdf was displayed in its
containing folder.

After upgrading from 18.10 to 19.04 the desktop context menu no longer
contains the choices:

Keep aligned
Organize desktop by name

These were very useful to me. I would like them to be restored.

[Bug 1823004] Re: Upgrade to 19.04 - cannot install 'install-info'

2019-04-20 Thread JOSEPH E CONNER
I have discovered that the desktop context menu no longer contains
choices to alphabetize icons, nor to lock into the underlying grid.

I do not know if this is a result of this installation bug or not.

Re: [Bug 1727057] Re: Drag and Drop Malfunction

2017-10-25 Thread JOSEPH E CONNER
I do not know how to do that. Interestingly, the drag and drop issue
seems to be tied to the desktop. I can drag a photo from the pictures
folder to the desktop (it copies rather than move) but not from the
desktop to the photos folder.

[Bug 1727057] [NEW] Drag and Drop Malfunction

2017-10-24 Thread JOSEPH E CONNER
Public bug reported:

After upgrading from Ubuntu 17.04 64bit to 17.10 transferring a file
from one folder to another fails with drag and drop. The grab will move
the file but not drop it. It is as if the mouse-up does not register.
The grab remains but mouse will not release until I log out of my
account and log in again. The right click "move to" will work to move
files.

[Bug 1400470] Re: cannot download photos using shotwell via usb

2017-08-25 Thread JOSEPH E CONNER
I use Ubuntu 17.04 64bit. I have this problem with my Canon 120IS. I do
not know how to "unmount" using nautilus as no icon appears to unmount.
A complete shutdown-restart did not see the camera until I had done this
several times. I tried several available usb ports. Funny, when I
initiate playback on the camera it does launch Shotwell. It is just that
Shotwell does not show the camera.
