[Bug 993655] Re: Unity looses mouse click handler when using enabling USB headset
I'm having the same type of issue. It seems to pop up when there is a unity issue like when I have the auto-hide turned on for the Nav bar and I try to switch desktops or when I tried to move a Chrome tab out of the current window into its own window. My mouse buttons are not usable until I log out and back on. When I tried moving the Chrome tab, the window followed my mouse like the button was still depressed and no combination of keyboard or mouse buttons were able to break the 'stuckness'. When I tried to switch desktops I got stuck seeing 4 desktops with content on each one but I was not able to click into a desktop. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/993655 Title: Unity looses mouse click handler when using enabling USB headset To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/993655/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 81636] GDM has no screensaver
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gdm I rebooted my computer (Edgy Eft) after work and returned the next morning to see a burned in image from the gdm login screen. I found a possible way to correct the behavior at http://gentoo- wiki.com/TIP_Screensaver_in_Background quote GDM OK, first thing is to set up gdm (I use 2.5.90.1, but it looks like 2.4.1.7 should work). As root, launch gdmsetup and set local login to standard greeter with no background. Then open xscreensaver-demo, find your favourite screensaver, hit Settings, Advanced, and note down the command line. Convert the program to a full path - if it isn't in your path, it's probably in /usr/lib/misc/xscreensaver. Then, edit /etc/X11/gdm/gdm.conf, find the BackgroundProgram line and set it to something like: File: /etc/X11/gdm/gdm.conf BackgroundProgram=/usr/lib/misc/xscreensaver/skyrocket --root or # BackgroundProgram=/usr/lib/misc/xscreensaver/xmatrix -root -small -delay 2 Now restart gdm /etc/init.d/xdm restart and watch the screensaver paint the root window behind the login box! What other OS can do that? Note, to make this works after you log in remove nautilus from your session so that it wont start when you log into gnome, this will leave you with the default grey background... but you can now run xscreensaver as a background, along with Xearth Xplanet and Xaquarium. /quote ** Affects: gdm (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- GDM has no screensaver https://launchpad.net/bugs/81636 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 49317] Re: Dapper loads in 640x480 if Aten KVM is switched to another PC
Can you change your resolution on the fly with a ctl, alt,+ or ctl,alt,- combination? Have you tried to choose your default resolution in the System -- Preferences -- Screen Resolution tool? The check box that says 'Make Default for this computer only' may fix this circumstance. Martin Bergner is right, xorg is set up to choose among a list of possible resolutions (i.e. 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768) depending on the monitor detection during boot up. Make sure that you have the ATI driver loaded correctly. Run 'fglxinfo', if you see Mesa 3D or anything other than ATI. It should look like this: display: :0.0 screen: 0 OpenGL vendor string: ATI Technologies Inc. OpenGL renderer string: Generic OpenGL version string: 2.0.6011 (8.28.8) If fglrxinfo doesn't show ATI, and you have the fglrx module loaded ( lsmod | grep fglrx ) then you may have the mtrr problem on Bug 3598 [https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/usplash/+bug/3598]. [Bug 53387] Boot order problem
Public bug reported: Everything seems to work correctly when I set up the network but when I reboot and log into gdm, my networking will not work until I run '/etc/init.d/networking restart'. I moved over to nw-manager for the time being. I set up /etc/network/interfaces with this type of configuration for ath0 iface ath0 auto iface ath0 inet dhcp wpa-driver madwifi wpa-ssid homezone wpa-key-mgmt WPA-PSK wpa-psk quoted passphrase # wpa-psk 0001231203 I didn't have time to try out the wpa-conf method but I did try wpa-psk in passphrase and hexidecimal mode with identical results. The only thing I can think of is trying to use pre-up commands to start wpasupplicant before it does dhcp. ** Affects: wpasupplicant (Ubuntu) Importance: Untriaged Status: Unconfirmed -- Boot order problem https://launchpad.net/bugs/53387 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 49638] Can't view video after recording
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: istanbul After recording the desktop, I have 2 files, desktop-recording.ogg and desktop-recording.ogg.tmp. The tmp file is 5.4 MB in size and the ogg file is only 253 KB with the screen capture. I suspect that the tmp file was supposed to be transcoded or something. Does gstreamer0.10 conflict with the gstreamer0.8 needed for this package? ** Affects: istanbul (Ubuntu) Importance: Untriaged Status: Unconfirmed -- Can't view video after recording https://launchpad.net/bugs/49638 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
