[Bug 119730] Re: Slow SATA performance
I had this problem. My motherboard does not support sata nor recognize my via 6421 controller. Even though it did'nt boot I was able to boot via usb hard disk (memory stick) and no matter what always got about 4 m/bytes on the hdparm test. My IDE disk was making about 50+. Just now I re-installed my st3320613as onto the external connector of the controller, now it tests at 60+ m/bytes. Of course the two ports are supposed to be the same ! Hope that helps (or maybe confuses ??). Here it is, I hope it helps. The thumbnails towards the top are OK, the blue ones lower down are incorrect, ie if you click on them they bring up a different, but correct, picture. I found this problem as follows:- 1. Click on 'Places' 2. In the places panel, click on 'search for files' 3. In the Search for files panel insert 'name contains' Jpg and 'look in folder' File system, click find. 4 In my system many jpg's are listed, often with incorrect thumbnails. ie the thumbnail displayed next to a filename is actually from a different file. There does not seem to be much logic as to which incorrect thumbnail is displayed, except that it is quite often the same incorrect thumbnail. [Bug 224176] [NEW] After Places,Search thumbnails wrong
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: eog I have many jpg's with duplicated filenames in different folders. The thumbnails are often incorrect, ie from a different file, but also quite often correct. When I click on the thumbnails the image displayed by Eye of GNOME 2.22.1 is correct as far as I can tell. Ubuntu 8.04, internet update from 7.10. I do have about 6,500 jpg's.
