I've a Dell Inspiron mini which came with Ubuntu installed. It's
running 12.04 lts and does very little apart from tv listings and
monitoring email (it's too small for regular use). Yet it ran out of
inodes as shown by df -i when the drive was about half-full according to
df -h.
This borked my
I've found I also need to set the hostname in smb.conf, and specify how
to relate to lanmanager
netbios name = hostname
name resolve order = wins bcast lmhosts host
client lanman auth = yes
client ntlmv2 auth = no
I've checked this out thoroughly from an Ubuntu 12.04 client on a
vanilla network

I found this thread because I caused myself a similar problem (greyed-
out button in the gnome print dialog box) by making an incorrect entry
to the hosts file on a fresh install of 8.04 (with the home directory
contents restored from backup of 7.04).
Just for info then,

Whatever the reasons are for the delay, the fact is that ekiga does not
work for a lot of users, right now, on the current ubuntu release, 6.10.
And probably *never* has.
Maybe when 7.04 is released later this week, the minority of machines
affected by the bug will be able to upgrade out of the
hmmm
this edgy system is kept up to date, so i guess that means ekiga has

Ah, my bad -- down to ubuntu then, of course. The bug's in the process
of ubuntifying your releases :)
Ekiga looks well interesting. I've managed to register (using another
system) but on that system the configuration wizard's 'audio devices'
test button produces no feedback from the mic.

But the bug description is exactly what my ekiga on edgy does when I try

I have the same issue.
It may be relevant that the affected machine uses the VIA chipset.

The attached bug report was generated by selecting a listed station,
then pressing enter (same as double left click on station).
It also crashes when the search facility is used. I'll generate a
report for that too soon, in case that has some more clues.
NB: the machine uses the VIA VT8363A
