It would appear this bug is probably related to Compiz/opengl and the
video driver/chipset.
I had the exact behavior occur after having turned off the power
management and screensaver. I had several programs open and I was
switching back and forth several times. When I hit the Display desktop

I figured out the printing problem on my computer. For whatever reason I
had changed my printer to HP Office Jet USB series. I changed it back to
the regular HP Office Jet that Ubuntu had initially installed and it is
all good now. This bug can be closed out.

I am having a similar problem except I have been unable to print
anything. Everything gets stuck. I have a similar architecture but a
Gnome desktop. I incorrectly reported the bug in Gedit, but it is
clearly in CUPS. My info is in Bug 519965 and 519971. This bug also
seems to affect the ink

The game menu and music started fine. I selected 1P play, random levels.
Once the game session started, the music and sound stopped. I managed to
play one level till I lost and then the game froze on starting up

Updated my system to Koala Karmic and 0.47pre4. The bug appears resolved
as I can now print directly from Inkscape with no printer errors.

I am experiencing the same behavior, which seems to be increasing in
frequency. The screen unfreeze suggestion did not work for me and I've
had to hard reboot several times. I have previously had a compiz related
crash. But I am running a plain desktop with no visual effects enabled.

Having a similar problem with MPPE. Applying the network-manager -
0.7~~svn20081018t105859-0ubuntu2 proposed patch from Bug #290468 appears
to have fixed the dialogue box, but the VPN still fails. I can connect
through the console using the PPTP plugin directly using the
instructions from this
Applied proposed fix network-
manager_0.7~~svn20081018t105859-0ubuntu1.8.10.1_source.changes to ubuntu
/intrepid-proposed. VPN still failed. Error log attached.
I was able to connect to my VPN using the PPTP client directly in the console.
