[Bug 531556] Re: [Lucid] Blank Screen after login
In my case details are slightly different: the screen is blank with a white mouse cursor and a text cursor in the upper-left corner, pressing any button causes some text to be written on the screen (but also buttons such as Alt produce some output) Pressing Ctrl-Alt-7 opens the login console. The first login always fails (it does not say "login failed", it simply returns to login screen). The second login succeeds. -- [Lucid] Blank Screen after login https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/531556 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 422093] [NEW] [karmic] KDE after waking up from resume loses the bottom panel, then freezes
Public bug reported: Kubuntu Karmic. After resume from sleep, the bottom KDE panel disappears. Some buttons work for a short time (for example, it is possible to right-click, the screen, click on the "Leave" button but then the screen becomes dark, the usual screen comes back, an the machine freezes) then computer freezes and cannot be powered down (ctrl-alt-f1, etc. do not work). After this, system complains about need of fsck, therefore the attached information was collected not directly after freeze, but after freeze + one run of fsck. This bug started to show up after approximately Friday, August 28. [Bug 414140] [NEW] [karmic] impossible to switch from kdm to gdm
Public bug reported: Kubuntu Karmic, with all upgrades installed. Firstly, kubuntu was installed, then ubuntu-desktop was added. It is impossible to switch from kdm to gdm using the standard command: sudo dpkg-reconfigure gdm * Reloading GNOME Display Manager configuration... * Changes will take effect when all current X sessions have ended. invoke-rc.d: initscript gdm, action "reload" failed. On the other hand, the command: sudo dpkg-reconfigure kdm results with no output. In each case, the standard dialog "Select the desired default display manager" is not shown and kdm keeps running after the restart of the system. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [karmic] impossible to switch from kdm to gdm https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/414140 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
