[Bug 1876923] [NEW] Xorg freeze on shutdown
Public bug reported: The system was suspended, it recovered perfectly. When I did a shutdown, the system hung with a message about waiting for Xorg. After several minutes, I pressed the power button once and the system responded with another message about sending sigkill to Xorg. Still didn't shutdown and went into the 'waiting for Xorg' again. I held the power button and turned the system off. Not sure if I can reproduce this, or what logs would help with the problem. Public bug reported: 73.0b10 (64-bit) Ubuntu 18.04 with all updates. This problem started after a recent 'upgrade' to firefox. I've verified this problem using other web browsers that work. About a week ago geolocation from a web site started to fail, so I installed the firefox-next PPA and did get an upgrade to firefox which did correct the problem with gelocation failing. Then on the next update, it started to fail once again. The web site I use to test it is www.repeatermap.us it simply centers you on the map. This no longer works on Ubuntu 18.04/firefox. Re: [Bug 1704171] Re: WiFi connections unstable
It's done it on all the 17.04 kernels, so I don't think it's a kernel issue. It's got something to do with the wifi manager and making the connection. See the long log I posted of the attempts (failing) to connect to wifi. But I will try the 4.13 kernel, but can't for a few days. Public bug reported: I have 3 WiFi signals here, and use them all without issue most of the time. Since upgrading to 17.04 I have issues where my wifi will not connect to one of the other 2 signals, then also won't re-connect to the signal that was just in use. When this happens, I can do a 'restart' and it will connect just fine to any of the 3 signals. While it was failing a bit ago, I captured the syslog of whats going on and will include it below. I have this same issue. Fresh install of 12.04 today. All updates. Connecting to a working ldap server. I found a thread on ubuntu forums, and it said to rem out all the lines in /etc/X11/Xsession.c/90qt-a11y and install nscd.
