2018-05-09 Thread José María
Public bug reported:

[Bug 1253176] Re: Upgrading to 13.10 from 13.04

2013-11-23 Thread José María Solís Toro
Hello.

I have purged xorg-edgers-ppa (it was a bit tricky because it was
disabled and had to reenable it in order to succesfully purge it), but
upgrading still fails.

I would like to troubleshoot this issue by myself, but I don't know
where to find the erros logs. Any help accepted ;-)

Thank you very much.

[Bug 1242323] Re: I can't upgrade to Saucy Salamander, error calculatin upgrade

2013-10-21 Thread María S
Hi,

Yesterday I installed the new system. I leave here what I did in case
anyone else has this problem.

sudo ppa-purge xorg-edgers. If the console says it doesn't exist, then
put this sudo apt-get install ppa-purge, and when finished go back to
the previous command. :-)

[Bug 210303] Re: [hardy] kaffeine loops on Codec package is already installed

2008-09-27 Thread María
So, the bug will not be fixed on Hardy? Because I don't want to upgrade
yet to intrepid. I don't want to be *forced* to upgrade to Intrepid
while Hardy is still maintained officially. And this is a big bug.

[Bug 39073] Nvidia 8400M GT

2007-07-17 Thread María
I have just bought a new laptop with Nvidia 8400M GT (lspci says 01:00.0
VGA compatible controller nVidia Corporation Unknown device 0426 (rev a
1)) and it doesn't work out of the box in kernel 2.6.20-16 (64bit) (with
the restricted-modules installed).

So, I had to uninstall the restricted modules and install the nVidia
official driver (the driver you find at the webpage of nVidia: I used
100.14.09-pkg2). It worked, more or less: the screen before kdm is
black, as if it was turned off, but then it lighten and appears the
login screen. Seems that the drivers aren't properly running until the
login screen.

The main problem is that i have also a wifi card (lspci says 06:00.0
Network controller: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network
Connection (rev 02)) that works with the restricted-modules, so I have
to choose between wifi or screen (or install the intel driver too, which
isn't trivial). I can't install the restricted-modules without the
nVidia driver.
