[Bug 1244402] Re: Autotype changes the @ character after upgrade to saucy
I am experiencing an almost identical problem with Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, 64 bit with preferred system language English (United States), regional format German and keyboard layout German. When using the auto type feature instead of the @ character the ⅛ character is printed. When using the feature to copy the user name or password to the clipboard everything is fine. KeepassX worked fine for me in 12.04 LTS. The problem occured after installation (not upgrade) of Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. I found other people with the same problem and also proposed solutions but I would prefer an Ubuntu-intrinsic fix. Proposal to run setxkbmap de after login: http://sourceforge.net/p/keepassx/bugs/269/ Proposal to remove all keyboard layouts except one: https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/247104 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1244402 Title: Autotype changes the @ character after upgrade to saucy To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/keepassx/+bug/1244402/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1244402] Re: Autotype changes the @ character after upgrade to saucy
Btw, running setxkbmap de after login fixes the problem for that session but it would be very nice if it just worked without doing magic which might interfere with the system. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1244402 Title: Autotype changes the @ character after upgrade to saucy To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/keepassx/+bug/1244402/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 891048] Re: Autotype with a username containing the @ symbol sends
#1244402 Autotype changes the @ character after upgrade to saucy is somehow a duplicate of this issue. German users with get a ⅛ character instead of an @. According to https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/247104 there is an additional workaround to this problem: Remove all additional keyboard languages. A solution instead of a workaround would be great. Chris, your proposal is not a solution but a workaround. Alternative workarounds are to use an old version of Ubuntu or Windows 7 which shows good performance on its 3D enhanced desktop. [Bug 931122] Re: 3D performance is very bad
Yes, unity 5.12-ubuntu1.1 helps. But the Unity performance is still unedifying. Ubuntu (3D): # Moving windows is and fading effects are still very jerky. # glxgears runs at 30 fps # glxgears -fullscreen crawls most of the time at 5 fps but sometimes jumps up to 18 fps. Ubuntu 2D: # Moving windows feels like it was before in 10.04. The window moves together with the pointer, no more drag but not smooth. # glxgears runs at 60 fps and seems to be limited by the screen refresh rate. Good! # glxgears -fullscreen still crawls along with 4.7 fps. I know that glxgears is not a proper benchmark but it is an application with simple 3D graphics and should run smoothly. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/931122 Title: 3D performance is very bad To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/931122/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 437306] Re: grub2 takes return key press from BIOS password window
If this is a BIOS bug, wouldn't it possible for grub to work around it by emptying the key queue when it starts? For most Ubuntu users it is much more easier to receive an updated grub than updating their BIOS - if there is an update. [Bug 437306] [NEW] grub2 takes return key press from BIOS password window
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: grub2 On my MSI Wind U100 netbook the BIOS can be configured such that a password has to be entered before it boots. After entering the password the Return key has to be pressed so the password is checked and accepted. Then the grub menu appears but the first entry is selected immediately and Ubuntu boots. But this prevents the user from selecting anything else from the menu. All this does not happen if the BIOS password is not enabled. In that case the menu can be operated normally. The old grub in Ubuntu 9.04 did not show this bad behavior.
