[Bug 1178147] [NEW] qmlscene not pulling all required dependencies

2013-05-09 Thread Martin Mrazik
Public bug reported:

We have the qt5-propper ppa enabled and doing something like this:
sudo apt-get install qmlscene qt5-default qtdeclarative5-qtquick2-plugin

Now with the state of the ppa as of today we are getting:
+ qmlscene /tmp/main.qml
Cannot mix incompatible Qt library (version 0x50001) with this library (version
0x50002)
/tmp/hudson3105480027562072510.sh: line 32: 2959 Aborted (core
dumped) qmlscene /tmp/main.qml

Adding libqt5quick5 and libqt5qml5 to the apt-get install seems to fix
the problem.

[Bug 1088419] Re: compiz fails to configure on arm with -DCOMPIZ_BUILD_TESTING=ON [package 'gl' not found]

2012-12-10 Thread Martin Mrazik
The truth is I only suspect the -DCOMPIZ_BUILD_TESTING=ON as this is the
main difference between jenkins and PPA building (and AFAIK it builds
without tests in PPA). If you have issues with reproducing this, please
let me know and I'll dig deeper.

[Bug 1016402] Re: equivs-build doesn't work if is part of PWD

2012-06-22 Thread Martin Mrazik
Unfortunately this is a real world situation when we are using jenkins
and mk-build-deps in the test job. We are using label expressions to
select the correct test configuration (e.g. amd64precise to tell
jenkins I want to test on amd64 and precise) . For some resons the label
expression used for selecting the jenkins node is used in the path of
the working directory. Hence this bug.

[Bug 975848] Re: Black screen after screen lock

2012-04-12 Thread Martin Mrazik
I was able to see this again after couple of days. However, the screen
was not black but I was able to see my wallpaper. But it was the only
difference. I still wasn't able to see anything else (like the password
dialog for unlocking the screen).

I tried all the commands from above from a terminal (by running
'DISPLAY=:0.0 setterm - blank 0' etc) but it didn't help.

[Bug 975848] [NEW] Black screen after screen lock

2012-04-07 Thread Martin Mrazik
Public bug reported:

I started to see this after ~beta2 (I'm running dist-upgrade daily + running
with unity staging PPA).
Sometimes (I can not reproduce this reliably) the screen remains black after a
period of inactivity or resume from RAM.
I have an impression I can reproduce more often if the screen locks itself
(i.e. without me pressing CTRL+L).

The only way how to get rid of it is X restart (service lightdm restart
from command line)

It looks exactly like the following bug so I'm also reporting against the intel
video:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/826397

I certainly didn't see this with beta1 and it is quite annoying as I'm
restarting my session (with editors editing source code, etc) quite
often.

[Bug 958353] Re: Locked screen reveals far too much information about the user and his work

2012-03-23 Thread Martin Mrazik
Frankly, I don't know how to reliably reproduce this. I'm seeing this from time
to time but I can not figure out exact steps how to reproduce.
Maybe it would help if you tell me what should I do when I see this (log files,
debug info ...).

I can still reproduce. I'll try to figure out what are the steps but it
may take couple of days.

[Bug 958353] Re: Locked screen reveals far too much information about the user and his work

2012-03-19 Thread Martin Mrazik
No it wasn't a multimonitor setup.

I had an impression I can reproduce reliably and all the time. I did a
dist-upgrade this morning and I don't see it any more. So right now I'm
not sure. Either this only shows up every now and then (and I did reboot
after the dist-upgrade) or the last dist-upgrade fixed the problem. If I
see this again I'll update the bug. For now I think it is IMHO OK to
close.

[Bug 958353] [NEW] Locked screen reveals far too much information about the user and his work

2012-03-18 Thread Martin Mrazik
Public bug reported:

After I lock the screen (ctrl+alt+L) I can still access a lot of information
about the user:
- what programs he is running (for some reason dash can be revealed even in
locked screen)
- what page is he browsing
- if he has any new mails (indicators are visible as well)
- if he is connected to network (indicators)
- etc.

See also the screenshot (phone quality as PrtSc doesn't work with screen
locked).
I can reproduce this with no issues.

[Bug 953778] [NEW] launcher can not be revealed using mouse

2012-03-13 Thread Martin Mrazik
Public bug reported:

This happened after dist-upgrade this morning.
I'm unable to reveal launcher using mouse any more. No matter how hard I try,
launcher just doesn't show up.
The only way how to access the applications is keyboard which is extremely
inconvenient (when I press the super key, dashboard together with the launcher
show up so I can workaround it this way).

[Bug 953778] Re: launcher can not be revealed using mouse

2012-03-13 Thread Martin Mrazik
I can not reproduce any more and I'm not exactly sure what happened.
I tried the following:
- using dpkg -i --force-downgrade in /var/cache/apt/archive I tried to
downgrade to unity_5.4.0+bzr2065ubuntu0
- after the downgrade I logged out/in and I was still able to reproduce the but
- gave up and run dist-upgrade again to go back to 5.6
- had to manually resolve some dependency issues (for some reasons libunity,
unity-common were upgraded but unity couldn't because of some dependencies on
the 5.4.0+bzr2065)
- logged out/in and it works now :-/

[Bug 954349] [NEW] white rectangle covers desktop

2012-03-13 Thread Martin Mrazik
Public bug reported:

This seems to be similar issue as lp754854 but I see it with the latest
compiz/unity. See the screenshot.
Before 5.6 the problem was actually bigger as the white rectangle covered 95%
(or so) of the screen so effectively you were unable to do any work.
Right now the rectangle is pretty small but still annoying (and covering e.g.
the back/forward buttons of browser).

[Bug 942705] [NEW] oops after ejecting USB flash disk

2012-02-28 Thread Martin Mrazik
Public bug reported:

I'm running 12.04 and I was creating a USB boot disk from 11.10 ISO on
my filesystem. Once it was ready I ejected the flash by draging and
dropping the icon in unity launcher to Trash. I've seen a device
successfully ejected message and then the following:

[Bug 937714] Re: command-not-found crashing with incomplete locale settings

2012-02-24 Thread Martin Mrazik
Sorry. Didn't understand your question.
I used LiveCD. I marked the partition with my old / to format and mount as '/'
(so the old system was really completely wiped out byt the mkfs). In the same
dialog I marked my home partition to mount as /home and _do not_ format.

Actually.. I used the i386 liveCD of 11.10, installed 11.10 (but didn't
install any 11.10 update from the internet) and only then upgraded to

Srry. I need to get used to use ubuntu-bug more.
I doubt it is specific to chromium as you can see thunderbird on the screenshot
as well. I remember having the same problem with terminal. Will try to report
again and mark this as duplicate.

[Bug 937714] [NEW] command-not-found crashing with incomplete locale settings

2012-02-21 Thread Martin Mrazik
Public bug reported:

I'm running the latest 12.04 and I'm getting the following:
---snip-
mmrazik@fry:~$ logo
Sorry, command-not-found has crashed! Please file a bug report at:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/command-not-found/+filebug
Please include the following information with the report:

command-not-found version: 0.2.44
mmrazik@fry:~$
---snip-

This is probably 2 bugs in 1:
1. the crash itself
2. the message which tells you absolutely nothing what is going on

After some debugging I realized there is something wrong with my locale
setup (to be honest I don't know how I get into this state; I have a
fresh install with my old home and it looks like even though I selected
the en_US locale the previous CS bits stayed somewhere in home).

---snip
mmrazik@fry:~$ update-locale LANG=en_US.UTF-8
perl: warning: Setting locale failed.
perl: warning: Please check that your locale settings:

LC_MONETARY = cs_CZ.UTF-8,
LC_NUMERIC = cs_CZ.UTF-8,
LC_TELEPHONE = cs_CZ.UTF-8,
LC_MEASUREMENT = cs_CZ.UTF-8,
LC_TIME = cs_CZ.UTF-8,
LC_NAME = cs_CZ.UTF-8,
LANG = en_US.UTF-8
are supported and installed on your system.
perl: warning: Falling back to the standard locale (C).
update-locale: Unable to write /etc/default/locale: Permission denied
mmrazik@fry:~$
---snip

I found out there is no cs dir in /usr/share/locale-langpack/. After:

mmrazik@fry:~$ sudo apt-get install language-pack-cs

I'm getting:
mmrazik@fry:~$ logo
The program 'logo' is currently not installed. You can install it by typing:
sudo apt-get install ucblogo
mmrazik@fry:~$

How to reproduce:
- set your locale to a language with no language pack installed
- run command-not-found
- observe the crash

[Bug 933349] [NEW] applications not grouped in launcher

2012-02-16 Thread Martin Mrazik
Public bug reported:

This happens to me quite often.
Out of a sudden the application is either not in the launcher at all or
somewhere else. See also the screenshot with chromium and thunderbird as a
demonstration. I have chromium normally on the first position (so I can just
press Super+1). All of sudden chromium is on the bottom and if I press Super+1
I'm getting a new chromium window instead of getting the old one.

[Bug 933369] [NEW] desktop freezes when enabling Screenshot in ccsm

2012-02-16 Thread Martin Mrazik
Public bug reported:

This seems to be similar to lp bug #685552 but I see this with 12.04 and
the latest unity (currently 5.4.0 RC1). Instead of SIGSEGV my desktop
freezes. What I usually do is go to terminal (ctrl+alt+f1) and killall
Xorg. After I login, I can actually see the screenshot plugin was
enabled.

- the desktop doesn't freeze completely. I can move with mouse cursor. It is
just that clicking doesn't do anything and desktop doesn't react on keyboard

[Bug 894737] [NEW] Unable to add timezones in time and date settings

2011-11-25 Thread Martin Mrazik
Public bug reported:

How to reproduce:

1. start gnome-control-center
2. choose Time Date
3. choose Clock and Choose Locations...
4. Click on a big green + sign

Actual result:
You are prompted to type something in. There are two problems with this:
1. It is not clear what should I type in
2. UTC is already there so I tried to type something like PST (Pacific Standard
Time) or CET (Central European Time) but it doesn't work

All I end up with is an additional, empty row.

Expected result:
Either some dialog appears where I can choose a timezone or I'm allowed to type
actually something into the row. See also the screenshot with the dialog and
with the empty row. There was no error dialog presented to the user that there
is something wrong with the input.

[Bug 808258] Re: plugin-container consumes a lot of CPU

2011-11-24 Thread Martin Mrazik
I'm seeing this in 11.10 (install from scratch) as well. plugin-
container eats up all my CPU cores. There are also at least 4-5 other
bugs with the same issues (but in a non-confirmed state).

btw - when I hit alt+tab I can not switch to thunderbird either.
Thunderbird is simply not there.

[Bug 839855] Re: thunderbird unity launcher does not bring running thunderbird window forward

2011-11-21 Thread Martin Mrazik
I can still see this in the released version of 11.10 (i386). It looks
like launcher is not aware thunderbird is running (the small arrow is
missing on the left hand side of the thunderbird account - see the
screenshot). Closing/starting Thunderbird doesn't help.

on the left hand side of the thunderbird account should read on the
left hand side of the thunderbird icon in launcher. Sorry for
confusion.
