[Bug 480318] Re: [Ubuntu 9.10] Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801G - does not work
Yes, I had sl-modem-daemon installed (by system installer??). Following your advice I removed that package and rebooted my Ubuntu 9.10. Now, I'm again a happy Ubuntu user with sound enabled during system boot up process. But I think there is something to be done with this problem/bug or maybe more appropriately spoken - packages conflict. I didn't tamper with anything related to sound or my sound card or modem. Every package (related to sound etc.) was installed in my system by installer. So maybe change something there? [Bug 480318] Re: [Ubuntu 9.10] Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801G - does not work
I followed your advice and put Y in power_save_controller=Y. It didn't help. I was unable to hear any sound from my speaker. I noticed that in my sound preferences, tab titled Output I have only dummy output or something like that. I commented out that whole line and rebooted. I again noticed that I don't have any sound. So I type in the console sudo alsa force-reload and it helped! So I suspect that all is there (all modules etc.) but something is broken in startup scripts or in system configuration. Now I need to type in that magic command to enable my sound each time I reboot my system. I can add this hack to rc.local but what for?
