[Bug 959964] Re: qemu-system-x86_64 crashed with SIGABRT

2012-04-11 Thread Mateusz Marzantowicz
I cannot reproduce this error anymore but I am not sure it is definitely
resolved. It happened unexpectedly and I did not notice all my actions
before and after. If there is something I can do to test/work on this
bug, please inform me.

[Bug 902521] [NEW] Location bar sometimes covers file names

2011-12-10 Thread Mateusz Marzantowicz
Public bug reported:

Location bar in Nautilus is placed over some of the file names which
makes them completely unusable.

You can see this at the bottom of screen shoot (last line of files.)

It is also hard to rename any of G3, G4, G5 files/directories because of
lack of visibility of their names.

[Bug 777014] Re: Right-click menu on hyperlink disappears on mouseover

2011-11-21 Thread Mateusz Marzantowicz
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 775229 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/775229

The problem is not Unity related. I'm having this issue since Firefox 3
(and that was the time Gnome was default window manager in Ubuntu).

Now I'm curious why this problem still exists in Ubuntu 11.10 - Firefox
is now 7! Maybe it is not a bug in Firefox but in GTK?

[Bug 617885] Re: gparted crash at start: glibmm-ERROR **

2010-10-21 Thread Mateusz Marzantowicz
I would like to report that gaprted is still broken on Ubuntu 10.10 both
amd64 and x86 (I have tested this on both architectures).

On both machines it dies during start up. Here goes mysterious result

$ gksu gparted

libparted : 2.3

glibmm-ERROR **:

I'm using LVM and have ext4, ntfs and swap partitions on my hard drive (in case
it helps you diagnose the problem).

[Bug 480318] Re: [Ubuntu 9.10] Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801G - does not work

2009-11-12 Thread Mateusz Marzantowicz
Yes, I had sl-modem-daemon installed (by system installer??). Following
your advice I removed that package and rebooted my Ubuntu 9.10. Now, I'm
again a happy Ubuntu user with sound enabled during system boot up
process.

But I think there is something to be done with this problem/bug or maybe
more appropriately spoken - packages conflict. I didn't tamper with
anything related to sound or my sound card or modem. Every package
(related to sound etc.) was installed in my system by installer. So
maybe change something there? If you have any more questions related to
this problem, I could try to help you as much as I can to fix this
problem.

[Bug 480318] Re: [Ubuntu 9.10] Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801G - does not work

2009-11-11 Thread Mateusz Marzantowicz
I followed your advice and put Y in power_save_controller=Y. It didn't
help. I was unable to hear any sound from my speaker. I noticed that in
my sound preferences, tab titled Output I have only dummy output or
something like that.

I commented out that whole line and rebooted. I again noticed that I
don't have any sound. So I type in the console

sudo alsa force-reload

and it helped! So I suspect that all is there (all modules etc.) but
something is broken in startup scripts or in system configuration.

Now I need to type in that magic command to enable my sound each time I
reboot my system. I can add this hack to rc.local but what for?
Everything worked in 9.04, 8.10 ane 8.04!

[Bug 480318] [NEW] [Ubuntu 9.10] Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801G - does not work

2009-11-10 Thread Mateusz Marzantowicz
Public bug reported:

Hello everyone!

I'm annoyed because after doing a fresh installation of Ubuntu Karmic (9.10) I
do not have any sound on my laptop.
What makes me so angry? It always worked without any problems since I had my
computer (since Ubuntu 8.04). Now it doesn't! What's going on?

My sound card is (lspci -vv):

00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) High Definition
Audio Controller (rev 02)
Subsystem: Gateway 2000 Device 0366

Region 0: Memory at d824 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=16K]
Capabilities: access denied
Kernel driver in use: HDA Intel
Kernel modules: snd-hda-intel

aplay -l gives:
 List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices
card 0: Intel [HDA Intel], device 0: STAC92xx Analog [STAC92xx Analog]
  Subdevices: 1/1
  Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 0: Intel [HDA Intel], device 6: Si3054 Modem [Si3054 Modem]
  Subdevices: 1/1
  Subdevice #0: subdevice #0

I've done some experiment and made some changes in
/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf file:
commented out last line as shown below:
# Power down HDA controllers after 10 idle seconds
# options snd-hda-intel power_save=10 power_save_controller=N

Now I am able to play sounds.

Does it really need to happen? Couldn't it just work as in previous
Ubuntu versions?

Is there any solution for this bug?

[Bug 111893] Re: Panel items lose their order when panel is not expanded

2008-11-23 Thread Mateusz Marzantowicz
This bug still exists in Ubuntu 8.10 intrepid (amd64), gnome-panel
1:2.24.1-0ubuntu2.1. It's a bit irritating bug.

[Bug 263837] Re: VMWare Server on kernel 2.6.27-2-generic: cannot compile vmmon module

2008-10-31 Thread Mateusz Marzantowicz
Can we make any final conclusion about workarounds for bugs mentioned
above? I see there are two different bugs: first related to compiling
kernel modules for vmware and second related to keyboard keys not
working in vmware console.

I'd be very grateful.
