[Bug 406626] Re: Deleted Items Folder inconsistently named

2010-03-08 Thread Matt Daubney
The OED (http://www.askoxford.com/concise_oed/trash?view=uk) says the
Trash is North American, as is trash can
(http://www.askoxford.com/concise_oed/trashcan?view=uk). Rubbish
(http://www.askoxford.com/concise_oed/rubbish?view=uk) is defined as (in
this context) 1 waste material; refuse or litter. and a bin (again in
this context) is (http://www.askoxford.com/concise_oed/bin?view=uk) 1 a
container for rubbish.

I normally stand by the OED and would in this case. I'd say it should be
Bin or maybe Rubbish Bin in en_gb

[Bug 506987] [NEW] f-spot doesn't start after crashing out importing from large nfs share

2010-01-13 Thread Matt Daubney
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: f-spot

After trying to import 37G of photos over NFS f-spot gave up, and now
doesn't start giving the error message :

The program '/usr/lib/f-spot/f-spot.exe' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)'.
  (Details: serial 2945 error_code 11 request_code 53 minor_code 0)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

Loading thumbnails of each image in that 37G took _hours_.

[Bug 501257] [NEW] nm-applet asks for new passphrase on dhcp failure

2009-12-29 Thread Matt Daubney
Public bug reported:

If I connect to a wireless network with a broken dhcp server, when nm fails to
get an address, nm-applet asks for a new passphrase even though its a dhcp
error not an authentication error.
This should give an error stating that it failed to get an ip address from dhcp
rather than asking for a new passphrase.
